BUS 65....
#WritcoStoryChallenge

The car sped through the dark night, it’s headlights flashing, warning the incoming traffic. Thunder and storm at its peak, our car was heading in full speed. Was in hurry as only kids were alone at home. I was tensed both with speed & kids of age 6 and 8 alone and he had one aim to reach at earliest before the heavy rain pour. We were on highway almost 40 Km far from home, suddenly police and barricades ahead of us we saw. There was an accident which took place and the road is blocked, it will take time and traffic cannot go ahead, police informed us. This was the height of any bad luck, road blocked, thunder and storm and we helpless. I still very much wanted to go. I requested my husband Jim to take another road, though it’s a long cut. We took a U turn heading towards the long cut to reach home. I was little restless and was hungry too and wanted urgently to go to loo. “Honey there’s a small restaurant I can see ahead, if you want we can wait there for a while to dine and freshen up “said Jim. No other option so I too agreed, hunger was at its peak, as I was at my sixth month. We were way back from my parents home, as my dad had an heart attack, a day prior. They stay 60 kilometres away from our city. We headed towards the the restaurant named “Bus 65”. It was small but something was very wonderful and amazing as we entered that small restaurant, shaped like a Bus as its name was. There was a women of middle age who greeted us and made us sit down and made us feel comfortable. Something was different about that women , her eyes , her way of talking etc. There was love and kindness in her every word. I was too tired physically and mentally as my kids were alone at home and we at restaurant at11.00pm. She asked us about what we would like to eat, to my surprise she was the only one in restaurant, no cook, no cleaner, nobody else. But she had that charm that we could trust her. We ordered the food and were waiting. There was nobody else in the restaurant except we three, not even any other customer. I was little scared and asked Jim to move quickly from here after eating. As usual husband’s know how to justify correctly to wives doubt. “Honey don’t worry, this restaurant is on high way, in remote area so probably nobody must be visiting much”. The lady came with the food, it was so delicious and satisfying that I never ate such food. She also served sweet dish which we never ordered, it was one of our favourite dish. I was again surprised about how she knew our favourite sweet dish and how she knew our names too, Mr and Mrs Shergil. But her warmth and love helped to vanish the doubts all the time. Her voice, pleasing smile and radiant face were amazingly different. It was almost 12.30pm now we were still in restaurant. It was pouring like cats and dogs out with lightning and thunder. We were about to move, but that lady requested us to wait and not to take me out at my such condition in this storm. We too surprisingly obeyed her and were back inside. As we were talking and telling her about the kids at home alone, so we rushing, she gave us her mobile phone to call the kids, as mine was switched off and his no range. I was so relieved to talk to my kids. We three talking and she explained us many things through her experiences but again everything was related to our life. There was something different about her, the way she spoke everything so confidently as if she knew us from the beginning. The rain had stopped, it was 2.00pm, she still not allowed us to go at such a hour. She requested us to travel at 4.00pm as it will be dawn, we too obeyed as she was so convincing. We were relaxed as we spoke to kids twice and explained about our situation. At 4.00pm finally we started way back home and we were just a kilometre ahead and I realized I left my phone for charging in that restaurant. Jim grumbled but we took U turn and went near the restaurant. I was about to faint, to see the restaurant closed and seemed like for years it was not opened. Absolutely nobody except the big lock on the door and my phone fully charged on the steps outside. It was very weird and scary to think about that entire night with that lady. Good we came back to take phone as we were now able to go back by the normal high way and not that long cut. As we were heading same police and barricades we saw. They told us road is clear and we can go and they also told us not to go by other way long cut as there was landslides and two to three vehicles are gone in it due to storm and rain….. We realised how amazingly and wonderfully our Lord protects his children. The lady was nobody but God’s angel sent for us for our protection…. Trust our living God in the toughest of situation, he will get through it, like you never had been there…
