We lost our sense of originality when we looked down upon every natural imperfection and replaced it with a manmade perfection .
From drinking filtered water to applying filters to our personality in order to camouflage the layers of imperfections hidden beneath the perfect filters ,
we draped ourselves in illusions and masked our tears with a fake smile .
While restlessly turning away from the candid moments of life, we tried to portray a glorified sense of self .
We covered every strand of truth with the beautiful concealer of lies .
We abandoned the voice of our own heart to sugarcoat the world .
We carefully plastered our skin but failed to bury the tornadoes rising inside our hearts because
we shed the layers of our own truth and filtered our originality just to feel a sense of belonging in this filtered world .
