It's monsoon time,
kids jump into the muddy puddles,
sail their paper boats
overwhelming the streams,
of rain water

It's monsoon time,
farmer's season
none use the pumps
to water their fields
cause' rains drench their soil
for the toil

it's monsoon time,
couples kiss
under umbrellas,
pregnant lady,
drink coffee
enjoying the petrichor
with her foetus,

it's monsoon time,
birds sing
and dance,
frogs croak in ponds,
bathing under nature's shower
cold pure water
rejuvenating them,

it's monsoon time,
heavy winds breeze,
cyclones are struck,
whirling the lives
in to whirlpool of tragedy,
flooding the paper boats,
rotting the vegetable fields,
and drowning the couples
trapping women in labor pains
in the towns and cities,
sparing none,

birds weep instead of singing ,
frogs cry instead of croaking,

this is the story of floods,
a monsoon tragedy at coasts,
of nature's wrath
at the cost of people's lives...!
