The diamond necklace on the mannequin looked familiar. She placed her palm on the window that separated them and leaned in closer."Yes,It is familiar to us" a woman who visited that jewellery asked her husband to look it"."Is it the diamond necklace of Padma madam?",Which we expect,as a gift for our daughter's wedding?"
"Yes,I think..."Her husband agreed with her.Then for confirmation they asked"Sir,We want to know more about this necklace...We mean, if this is not a newly made....and if was sold by someone...."
The man who involved in selling shook his head...Then said"if you don't mind,for what purpose...? "It is just for the sake of our curiosity...."they said
He shook his head.Then said"Wait,just a minute.This was sold two weeks back by a lady named padma...she is from a well known wealthy family...not much far from here...sometimes you know her...."
"Yes....we know her...!,Thanks a lot for the information"
She was from a very well known family.A very large house ....famous for wealth...other properties....All these were managed by her husband.Two domestic helpers were there for doing all household duties once...So proudful atmosphere...But the situation changed after her husband's death....Some of her treasures were stolen by someone....Some lost through mismanagement...Two daughters and t heir family were staying far away from there....She alone left in that house...The treasures diminished....She was going through hard situation for day to day expenses...!
There house was near the road but above the rock...The rocks on that road are destructed some years back.They create a force matching with the fracture ability of the rocks.So that the brocken pieces of the rock do not fly away. There were only low noise and vibrations.It was above the normal level of the road with number of steps...were made in the height of straight rocky slopes....!
Now a days rarely fancy bullock carts in the evening with lamps hanging carrying goods is a wonderful sight ....but bullocks was not able to move through the height...So the man inside free them out and try to move them above..Though a large garden infront,many flowering plants never blossomed because of the mineral deficit of soil because of flood...!Anyhow Jasmine,hibiscus ....some others were grown in plenty...She tried to grow rose and some orchids ...but all her attempts were in vain....!
All her earlier household workers went by.One become rich...and the other remains as poor...
When she was invited for the marriage of her rich household helper,She was in a dejected condition.What do she gave her?There were no other valuable things in her house...but only an old diamond necklace...which was her only treasure left...but she decided to gave them that diamond necklace as they were their workers earlier...and she was doing things on behalf of her husband..!
As it was the time of the onset of the days of the wedding function...unexpectedly, she met someone and learned from them that her old household helper who was poor is facing confiscation of his house.Next day she went to see them and asked them about it...They said that they were living outside the house for a couple of days.Her only grand daughter was school going.She after returning from the school stood outside with them and studying with kerosene lamp for two days... !
"What about the house loan...?"She asked.
"It is about some lakhs of rupees with interest...!.We pay back some money...but unable to repay the complete amount...!Three months before the bank authorities came and affix the notice outside the house as warning...As we didn't payback the amount ,they came and sealed the house.We are living here outside...so many people came to visit...all exclaimed....but none suggested any idea...because money ....it is a very valuable thing..No one were ready to spend it unwantedly....wastefully....
Money is the most valuable thing a person do ever met in his worldly life...!This as per circumstances..make one capable of retaining his life....saving his life...make him to acquire things...make one to lead a luxurious life....!.Nothing can be acquired without money is a fact.....! But valuing it above the human values is the reason for many problems existing in the human societies...!!!
So the next day she decided to sell the old necklace of her,the only treasure remaining... With that money,she along with them gone to bank and pay back the remaining sum with interest.So that they can enter inside...They asked to spend a day with them...but she said didn't ...and returned....She said that she had to go and attend the marriage of other the next day...!
That night she can't sleep...as they were household helpers earlier,according to her it is unfair not to give them a better gift...Also he had to think and act on behalf of her husband...What better gift she has to give to her well off household helpers?But she didn't told anyone about her diminished financial condition...Whether it may cause some eembarrassment to his proud family...to her husband...to her daughter's...but at the sametime something better has to be given as gift...!
She finally decided to give some ceremonial objects as gift thinking that it might help for their progress and for retaining the acquired wealth.It is really a most better gift they accept based on values..!
But they were not satisfied...They know that she had some valuable things remaining...a diamond necklace which she wore earlier in some other functions...They expect it as a gift in wedding....!!!
The real worth of valuables lies where it is placed or for what purpose it is to be used....!!! .We can't satisfy anyone with gift or any ornaments!.We can't satisfy anyone with money?Where is one's boundary of satisfaction of wealth exist?Surely it remains endless...Apart from that, for human life love,kindness,satisfaction,sincerity,generosity....should be considered as real valuables....!!!
