JULIE......
Julie had always loved writing. Ever since she was a little girl, she would fill her notebooks with stories of adventure, romance, and mystery. She dreamed of becoming a famous author someday, and sharing her stories with the world.
But life had other plans for her. She had to drop out of college to take care of her sick mother, who passed away a few years later. She took a job as a waitress at a diner, where she met Tom, a charming truck driver who swept her off her feet. They got married and had a son, Jake, who was the light of their lives.
Julie was happy, but she never gave up on her passion. She would write whenever she had some spare time, hoping to finish her novel someday. She called it "The Lost Love", a story about a woman who travels back in time to find her true love, who died in a war.
One day, she received a letter from a publishing company, saying they were interested in her manuscript. They wanted to meet her in New York and discuss the details. Julie was overjoyed. This was her chance to make her dream come true.
She packed her bags and kissed Tom and Jake goodbye. She promised them she would be back soon, and that they would celebrate together. She boarded the bus that would take her to the city, feeling excited and nervous.
She never made it there.
The bus was involved in a terrible accident on the highway. Julie was among the victims who died on the spot.
Tom and Jake were devastated by the news. They couldn't believe that Julie was gone forever. They tried to cope with their loss, but it was hard. They missed her every day.
A few months later, Tom received a package in the mail. It was from the publishing company. Inside was a copy of Julie's novel, along with a letter.
"Dear Mr. Smith,
We are deeply sorry for your loss. We were looking forward to meeting your wife and working with her on her amazing book. We decided to publish it as a tribute to her memory and talent. We hope you don't mind.
Please accept this copy as our gift to you and your son. We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we did.
Sincerely,
The Editors"
Tom opened the book and saw Julie's dedication:
"To Tom and Jake,
You are my lost loves.
Julie"
He felt tears streaming down his face as he hugged the book to his chest.
He decided to read it to Jake every night before bed, as if Julie was still there with them, telling them her stories.
They felt closer to her than ever before.
