A wreck I can't Forget
#WritcoStoryPrompt10
The car swerved around the sharp mend giving a narrow miss to the on-coming bus. Hannah hit her head against the window. The world turned upside down for about two seconds before she came back to reality in a jolt that made her sick.
Her vision was blurry when she opened her eyes and it took another minute before she could move her hands enough to get out of her seat. She had a slight headache that she attributed to the crash. She couldn't get her nerves to calm down.
Hannah looks over at the passenger side where is friend Maya sat, she could see bleeding from her forehead where the headrest had slammed into her head after hitting the window.
“Oh God.” Hannah breathed feeling her chest tighten, “Maya?”
No response. I pray she isn't dead. Hannah thinks to herself.
Hannah looked around the parking lot for the help they needed, she couldn’t see any pedestrians, she reached for her seat belt and un buckles. Her head landing in the crook of her arm and making it throb even more. She winced at the agony shooting through her body causing tears to roll down her cheeks. The place was deserted. No cars parked next to her and Maya was nowhere in sight.
Where has everyone gone? Why isn’t anyone helping us, why does everything just seem so calm and peaceful? Is this some kind of joke? Is it actually happening? What do we do now? Hannah grabs Maya out of the car and drags her to the side of road, everything hurt inside her. She Sat on the side, crying and gasping. A few tears fall from Maya’s closed eyelids....
