Indian man life cycle- traditional and liberal
Indian man from birth to death has many responsibilities. Some people decide to not take them, so they are branded as irresponsible. But is it necessary to live that way? During whole childhood we have obey everything elders told us to do, which career we will do is decided by our parents, even for many Indians their life partner or other way of putting this will be, the only person we can have sex with is also chosen by parents. Now let’s be honest the system of arrange marriage looks a lot like the sale of girls in the Agnipath movie but ,in arrange marriage female side has to pay. Dowry system is illegal but must of police men marriage involve this. After that, as parents began to grow old and retire from job we have to take care of them. But we take their all the savings and property. We have to disciplined our kids to follow everything we say. Then pay for their college expenses even after they become adult. So, we can’t save lot for our retirement. Same way we give our kids property. Then they will decide where you are going to live. In many cases the pension is also given to kids by their parents because they never let their kid basic things necessary to live .This all traditional cycle repeats itself and confine us to a virtual prison where we can’t grow and live. This system never let us explore.
But it is not the case with everyone. Many people are choosing their own career and life partners. That many of compared to all India is not more than 10% to 20 %. Actually I think it will be lot less than five percent. And I don’t know anyone who has become independent before twenties if their parents are middle or upper class. Here, by independent I means living his own life in his own house or rented one which is not payed by his parents and also making his own decisions. Lack of ability to make decisions always arises due this system as we don’t have to use our brain.
So I try to design how our life might look by living according to you not by traditional system. First thing kid will try to learn things that he wants to and think might be useful in future. Then he will decide his own career by working as assistant or by interview of professionals in that field. For college study they earn the money before 18 or do part time job or take loan. Now many people will say this will create stress on students and distract them from study. But, let’s look from different point of view. Consider if you go in five star restaurant and some very expensive dish from your own money. But dish turn out to be not of your taste. Will you waste that dish no! You eat it anyway. It will be in same way the only difference is that they will what they in for before. Anyway the fees of good government college is very less. And also there are many scholarship program also. But again we will not be treated as adult individual but as the insignificant part of family. At last students can always do pat time job in their career field. This will be enough for the college fees for sure plus, the experience they will get which will be invaluable. Many engineers out of college don’t get the job because they don’t have any experience. Students will also get great advantage that is do anything they think is right for them. And as they have to pay the fees they will think very properly before choosing careers.
Now as parents doesn’t have pay fees, they can save for retirement or live their lives in more interesting ways. Many will be able to dream and live it.
