Motivation in Motion
Let’s face it, many of us only put in real work or effort when we feel motivated enough to do so because it’s easier to focus and get things done, some days we wake up and barely want to roll out of bed while others days we get up and feel like someone injected us with a cup of coffee with an espresso shot on the side.

Every day is different, everyday feels different, it’s important to have the mindset, the tools and know how, in order to deal with and get through the things that life throws at us.

I read about something called “The Motivation trap”, it’s the belief that in order to get anything done we must first feel motivated to do so, it’s like being at work and not wanting to be bothered so instead we procrastinate or goof off all day.

So. What can we do to remedy this and get moving/motivated? Set goals because the goal (end result) is the key, this is what we are determined to accomplish, it may not be right away but it will come to pass.

Do the work. While we have that goal in mind, don’t forget that the only way to accomplish it is to actually put in the work that needs to be done, while fantasizing about the end result, make it a habit of daily putting in the drive and the labor to get there.

Self check “Why am I doing this”? Does your reason for it all make you happy? Will it bring you happiness in the long run?

And last but not least.

Purpose. Your desire to do something that’s meaningful, the wanting to see not only yourself win but perhaps others as well, the fulfillment of the big picture, the greater good.

So, next time you feel scared or overwhelmed remember, there are mountains you had to climb in the past but you made it, let all your wins in life help encourage and motivate you, let it free you and show you that starting somewhere is better than that feeling of not starting at all and staying stuck.
