Our steps & destiny
The story goes to 1979 when I had passed my 8th standard exam and had to decide my optional subject in class 9th. In those days subjects were chosen in class ninth.
Being a meritorious student I decided to opt for science with biology as optional and I applied at government Bagla higher secondary school churu and I got the seat and I came back to my village for arranging fee and discussing stay problems at churu with my family members.
But the very next day two boys of our village fought with each other and one named Prabhu (name changed) striked with an axe on the head of Ramu( name changed) and there was a huge blood stream coming out from Ramu's head, smearing him totally in blood.A local compounder was called and he cleaned the head with clean pieces of clothes and done some bandage and referred to churu. That flow of blood and the rough first aid by compounder with bare hands shook me to the core in such a way that I decided to change my school and optional subject.
Next day I went to Ratangarh and applied for science with maths as optional subject in Raghunath higher secondary school Ratangarh and I got the admission there and done my higher secondary with good marks and got admission in engineering finally.
In those days admission in engineering was difficult then that in MBBS. Though I later on became an engineer and serving as an engineer today but still I have regret for changing the subject merely without knowing the full facts about curing injury and doing surgery.
Otherwise I think today I would have been a doctor and could have got the title of "God on earth" in these difficult times. This stepping back of my feet is frequently comes in my mind and I feel that it was my biggest mistake of the life.
Though our steps ,I think , are decided by destiny.
