A shard of the past
[just an experimenting with 1st person. Might upload another ones]

I quickly pulled the old blade from under the moss which envelopped the skeletal body.
It's been so long, yet, outside of a few broken points, the sword was in a perfect condition. The beautiful golden hilt shined in the morning light. It was quite a surprises no one took it, but who would bother scavanging an old ruin like this anyway.
I strapped the blade to my backpack, since the dead guard wielding the sword wasn't gonna need it anyway.
I still remember as a young boy, playing around the guards of this place trying to get a reaction out of them. Ah, the good old times. Now, this place is just a ruin.
The nature already toko the place as it's own. Most of the light grey stone was completely covered in moss. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few animals eighter. As nostalgia overtook me, I walked into the large tunnel-like structure with a pointed roof. The holes in the roof gave me barely any light, so I decided to light up a torch. Normally I would just use magic, but nowadays it would strain my body too much. I couldn't risk wounding myself, especially during these times.
As I looked around, I could still make out the large tapestries on the walls, depicting various historical and cultural events.
I still remember the sound of people chatting around this place, the smell of fresh bread and apples, the countless people moving around, chatting and looking at the beautiful works of art....
As I got lost in my thoughts, I stumbled on something, barely managing to catch myself by grabbing on a large crack in the wall.
It was a stone head, about a meter in diameter. Aurelion....the great hero celebrated everywhere back then. I don't remember what made him so famous, I was too young back then. What amazed me was his grand armor and the red cape he used to wear, and who could forget his personality, the heroism in his acts and voice, how friendly he....he was a friend.....
I dropped a torch as it downed on me. For a moment my memories became clear. I ran with all I got out of the structure. It's as if I was trying to run from myself, the nightmares came to haunt me once again.
I dropped into the wet grass by the entrance as tears started to pour down my face.
All of this...the ruin...the dead guards...Aurelion...the world...
,,All your fault, All your fault.." was all I could say to myself.
What have I done....how could I've been so foolish. I am the one responsible for the current state of the world, for my dead friends, for Aurelion,.... for everyone. Look at me now...from a horrible monster to a travellers who can't even cast a simple spell without puking blood.
As my head started to spin from all the throughts and memories piling onto me, I closed my eyes, hoping for even just a moment of peace. Whenever my wish came true or I was simply just exhausted, my mind drifted off, as I fell asleep on the cold ground.
