Once a story's told .. 💛🪻
"I am not a writer nor a poet."
It was April of 2020.
Had doubts on what to write and how to.. I was really hoping I could justify my being wanting to be a writer.
Yet, I never dreamed to become a writer nor a poet but I was hoping like I can be a song writer or composer. [funny ey?!]
The very first poem I wrote back then when I was in my high-school days. There was one time, a schoolmate of mine who asked for a favor. To help her write a poem describing nature and global warming.
I was so proud of my write up that time. If only I knew that todate I would be inspired to write, I would have kept a copy of it.
Anyhow, It was when I joined Haiku community too when I was again inspired to write quotes.. Haiku was the very first writting app that I joined. It was even my stepping stone to be able to write a one line quote.
Haiku community became a family during the times of the pandemic. I have been very grateful to great and prominent writers and poets whom i meet there who, in one way or the other, had been my inspiration. I could not just thank them enough.
Somehow, my journey of becoming a wanna-be writer seems to have now a little of what they call "start off!"
I am proud to say that I won a writing challenge— to compose a SONNET sponsored by 'Surrey New Writers Festival'. Then another, a 24 Hr Micro Flash Prompt by ALTPoetryPrompts, and another and so forth.
I don't want to be famous. I just want to write for self motivation. I write because I just want to aspire to inspire myself.
Though I know I'm too far from being there yet, but I'm just glad I have come this far.
