My Dog Whistler
I'm waiting for the paint to dry
I have some time to kill
I'll tell you some stories of my last dog
named Whistler
She was a Heinz 57 , born ona Indian reserve here in Canada, Shepard intelligence, endurance of a Border Collie, she swam an retrieved all day, she must have inherited some Newfie or Lab along the way and maybe some Coyote whos to say
Whistler played with Coyotes and Foxes who would try to lead her astray
she came close to being lunch more than once
Whistler loved to run, she was crazy fast
she was always leading way she never forgot a trail
People who met her were blown away
she made friends where ever she went

One night out of the blue, I was new in the neighborhood, when a stranger shows up and says I use to live in this old trailer I'm visiting friends i live out of town could l leave two puppies in the fenced-in backyard for the weekend
Dog lover I am I said sure
They were probably 9 weeks old , Brother & sister no resemblance of each other
So when Sunday came, he pulled up to pick up his puppies he asks me which one do I want. The male was better looking, stronger, more dominant a really good looking dog, but for some reason I took the runt one ear up one down

I remember my sister and husband telling me what a ugly mutt what have I done. Even my friends asked me what have I done? Little did we know she turned out to have more character than the average Joe , dog or human.

They say dogs character takes after there owner and Whistler did this on her own accord. She literally loved beer and if you weren't paying attention she would spill your beer and we drank beer she always had last sip
Whistler enjoyed the green a little bud or a roach was never safe if left on the coffee table one slip of the tongue and it would be gone.
She played with death this one time
Crazy creek deep pools fast water
never fished it before Glacier fed ice cold !! she ran up the trail and went for a drink and the raging eddy picked her up and wasn't spitting herout, around an around she went she was going down
Whistler was drowning, the eddy took her down Crazy creek is a man eater i wasn't going down?! I knew better
15 minutes was like a life time watching her go around and around

than she poped out 5o ft where she went under
fishing is over never been back
