A boy walked along in the cold and the snow.
He was looking for food and a safe place to go.
He saw up ahead a progressive big store,
so with hope he walked up and he opened the door.
He asked for the manager, hoping to find
a man understanding and thoughtful and kind.
With a smile on his face when the manager came,
he held out his hand and he offered his name.
He said, “sir, a job I am searching today.
I can work hard I know for a man’s normal pay.”
