Me and Charles
#WritcoStoryPrompt8
The picture in the frame held a lot of memories. Some good, some sad. Her tired eyes roamed over it one last time before she tossed it in the fire. It was time to start afresh. But then she snatched it back out just in time before it was gone. It had donned on her that was the last picture of Charles. She remembers the day that picture was taken. she had woke up on a Saturday morning. she didn't feel like being with Charles (the name she gave her bike) today. she felt bad about this so she decided to avoid the garage all together so there would not be an incident like last time. she showered and threw her towel into the laundry basket. it was overflowing with clothes. great she thought. how can I get to the washer in the garage without Charles seeing me. I'll be real quiet. that's all. I quietly unlocked the garage lock and opened the door slowly. I walked a few feet into the garage and peeked around the corner. wouldn't you know it. Charles had heard me. he had rolled himself over to block the washer. I wasn't up for another one of Charles tantrums. I had to think of something fast. "Charles dear, how would you like your picture taken so I can hang it on my refrigerator?". Charles rang his Bell on the handlebars all excited. I took out my phone and pointed it at him. I then told Charles the washer was a bad background and the garage door would be much better. he was ringing like there was no tommorow as he rolled backwards to the garage door. I said "say cheese". he smiled and I snapped the picture. as fast as I could I ran to the washer and started my laundry. I told Charles that his picture will look great on the refrigerator. and it did. until I got bored looking at it and tossed it in the fire.
