Her crippled soul (a short story)
It all began on a sunny summer afternoon. It was the day my life crumbled into pieces. I never knew the world is cruel till I lost my self to it. The people in this world are like masseurs in a dungeon of cruelty.
My life turned out to be like dream. It was perfect just yesterday and then I'm feeling like a disdained log of wood today. Life without my family, friends and loved ones has its perks. The people you live with only remain with you for a reason. It's either for your beauty or your success.
22nd September 1999,
It was a serene afternoon as the morning glory flower shone flamboyantly. Winter has passed but spring left an irreplaceable glow to the plants. The magnificent scent of rose and its sight envisions every beholder's sight.
The loud wails of a new born baby was heard from the hospital ward. A couple sat impatiently waiting for the arrival of thier expectant baby.
A brunette nurse probably in her late twenties went and informed them of the delivery. Unlike every other birth, the nurse's face held no emotion whatsoever. Her face held no color as it was void. She couldn't tell them what happened not until they see for themselves. Throughout her stay in the new city specialist hospital, she had never experienced such trauma. With sagged legs and a weak body, she told the couple to meet the doctor and know what awaits them.
The doctor was anxiously waiting for the couple not knowing how deliver the news to them. They gingerly entered the office and sat on the desks.
"Good day Mr and Mrs, I'll like to let you know that this is not the first kind of case I'm having, your sister has given birth to a baby girl. But she is crippled, with no limbs and has developed lung cancer since from birth". The doctor said drawing in a long breath.
The couple then took the baby and its mother, vowing to take care of her till their last breath.
But faith had other plans, both the couple and the baby's mother passed away in a car accident.
Ann, as she was named had no where to go.
It was at that point in her life that zayd muarib Hassan emerged. He changed her life forever. They both fell in love and he cherished her like there was no tomorrow.
