Dark Secrets Chapter VI
Prince Liam P.O.V
When I had first seen her in the water, she was the most beautiful of women I had ever laid eyes on. Her curves fit her perfectly, her long dark hair cascaded down and floated around her slim body in the water. The sun had kissed her smooth tan skin. Her eyes the color of emeralds. I knew she had been injured as I had used the smell of the blood her feet had left behind to find her. The second her eyes had met mine, it felt as if a spark had gone through me. I suddenly became angered at the thought of her being injured... or taken by another man. I decided that I would not let that happen.
I felt horrible about putting her under a trance and causing her to pass out. I never had a woman fight against me before, but I knew that she needed to be healed and that was the only way I could do it so that I wouldn’t have her thrashing the whole time. When I had her small, beautiful body in my arms, it was the most relaxed I had felt in all the centuries I'd been alive. I slowly set her body down on the grass, her long and still wet hair had fallen around her and her eyes had fallen shut. I kneeled down by her feet and began to use the power I had to heal her. I held my hands over her gashed feet as a red glow shot from my hands and onto her skin.
It took so long for her to finally awaken. I thought that perhaps I had used too much power on her and she had died. I didn’t realize that I had begun crying until her sweet voice asked what I had done. She could never find out what I was or how I did it, until I made her mine. When she kicked me and ran off, I knew I'd be able to find her again. My mark was already on her. I smiled once more before heading back to the castle.
"Son, where were you? You've been gone for almost the entire day." My father asked as I opened the wooden doors to the grand hall dining room.
"I have found my mate." I said happily before pulling a chair out and taking a goblet of blood from the servant and taking a sip, letting the sweet flavor pour in my mouth.
His eyes had gone wide.
"What have you been doing" I questioned as I set the cup back down.
"As the next ruler of this kingdom, you cannot be out and about running around much with the women, we have a reputation to hold up..."
"What reputation? In your younger days, you had a woman for every day of the week." I counted taking another sip.
He folded his arms and gave me a very stern look.
"Difference is, I never did it as much as you."
"The woman you had just a few days ago?" He questioned me raising his brow.
"Ah, yes, Scarletta. She had stopped by a while ago." I said casually.
"Stopped by or you brought her back from the tavern?" He questioned again.
"You already know the answer to that." I winked.
"Liam, if you don’t..."
"This is different. This woman is mine. My mark has already been made." I stated.
His mouth went wide open causing his long dark beard to hit his chest.
"You mentioned before about finding my soul mate. The next queen of this kingdom and I'm telling you now, I have found her."
"It was the same woman the knight and town crier were supposed to bring in, yes?" He asked.
"The very same." I told him with a grin.
“Well that is great news!” he exclaimed banging his fist on the table before looking towards the wooden door. “Well, where is she?” he questioned.
I immediately felt my body tense up. I wracked my brain with what to say before closing my eyes and taking a deep breath.
“Well she’s not exactly here right…” I started before the wooden doors slammed open.
“Don’t get too excited there, Liam.” She said walking over and embracing me.
“Scarletta, you should not be here…” I told her.
"Oh, you always enjoy my presence when I'm here though, Liam." She purred as she walked up behind my chair and touched my shoulder.
I shrugged her off as I stood.
"Scarletta, what is it you need?" My father questioned her.
She gave a sly smile before stating, "I have only come to visit my lover."
Something in me began to feel wrong as she said that. I took a step away from her.
"You need to leave. You aren't welcome here anymore." I said before walking away.
I heard her footsteps across the stoned floor as she began to follow me. I whirled around and stopped her.
"I told you no." I said before we both jumped as a door slammed shut.
I looked behind me at the table before realizing my father had exited through the other doors. I ran my hands through my dark curls before giving Scarletta a glare.
"You know you want me with you, Liam."
"I told you no." I told her calmy again.
"My love..."
"NEVER call me that again!" My voice boomed. "You have no right."
She was taken aback by my tone. She calmly composed herself and wiped her hands down her tight black gown. The puffy sleeves of it hung down her arms, exposing a bit of her cleavage. She looked up at me with her bright green eyes before taking a step closer to me.
"You know you want me." She whispered as her hands made their way up their shoulders.
"No." I tried to say as her lips connected with mine.
The same intense passion I had had with her for almost ten years had suddenly turned into intense rage and resentment at what she had done. My hand that had curled into her long locks broke free. I put both hands on her shoulders and shoved her away.
"Liam, why are you..."
"Did I or did I not already tell you to leave me alone?" I asked.
"You did, but I..."
"No, Scarletta. Leave at once." I commanded.
"No, Liam." She said standing her ground.
"Guards!" I shouted, giving her a stern look.
Two guards came in and walked up behind her, each of them grabbing a hold of her small, pale arms.
"Liam, you cannot just have me thrown out like this!" She screamed as she tried to break free.
Using my speed, I was an inch away from her face as I leaned down. "I can do whatever I want." I whispered in her ear.
I backed off as and motioned for the guards to get her out of the castle. As soon as the doors were closed, I went to find my father. I climbed the two floors of stone stairs and found him sitting by the fireplace of his chamber.
"Trouble in paradise, my son?" He chuckled.
"I can assure you she was never a paradise to be around." I said taking a seat next to him on the black sofa.
"You didn’t seem to think that before. This new woman have anything to do with that?" He asked turning to me and smiling.
"Yes I believe so." I returned the smile.
Leaning my head back in the chair, I began to think about her and wondered if she was thinking about me too.
