Needing a Message
Needing a message
I am human, and even though I am Christian, sometimes I am more human than Christian.
This means that even though I am a believer, sometimes life gets to me. Sometimes, I think it's too much, especially when I am going through the storms. But, like always, these times pull me to church because God always has a message for me there. I need to be there to hear the message and to feel the Holy Spirit in his house.
And yes, I was right. The message was that you must be constant. You must always pray and trust him. He never said it would be easy, but he said he would be with you. You need to show up. You need to have a plan, and you can not quit. You're born to endure. But you can only endure when you know God. The bible says:
“You're up against far more than you can handle on your own”
I definitely know this is true. Life has thrown too much at me, and I know that I couldn't have gotten through it with him. Remember as you're going through this, you will need to be determined, you will need stamina, and you will need endurance to take you through the storms. You need to push through so you can win.
Trust and believe this is just a test for your testimony. Here are a few bible verses that say this.
Your due season is here. Just don't quit.
For he who promised is faithful.
If you quit, you won't feel the miracle.
For you have the need for patience and endurance under difficult circumstances.
It's already been done.
If God is for us, who can be against us?
Stand firm, let nothing move you. It is not in vain.
Show up every day, even if it's for a minute a day, an hour a day just like I learned in AA. It's the little steps that get you to the big steps.
So today, my friends, I know that I am not alone in feeling like this, but for me, church always gives me the message I need to hear. Being around my church family, who I know have also been there and have held on to faith and that I saw the works that God can do helps as well. I am here to say don't give up. Hold on to your faith. And remember, this too shall pass. You just need a message.
