Chapter Two

"That's why you'll always be in the friend zone." Mary Ann smiled at Lisa, "Better to be in the friend zone than the never-in-your-dreams zone!" Not waiting for a response, Mary Ann hops in her car, shaking her head. Just as she puts on her seatbelt, she hears a knock on her window. She turns to see Wesley smiling at her and she rolls it down. greeting him with a warm smile, "Hey! What's up?" He leans on the window,

"Just wanted to say hi since I didn't get to before the game.... and get away from the girls' fare for a second." Mary Ann smiled at him, "Ha! I thought you liked the attention, Mr. Popular?"

Wesley brushed his hair back and brightened his smile, and spoke softly. "Well, yeah, but sometimes I need to talk to someone who isn't trying like crazy to date me." Mary Ann sat in her daydreams again, (If he only knew... I would date him if I could! But I'd just embarrass myself if I tried flirting.) Then she came to herself with a bright smile.

"Maybe you need to just tell them you have a girlfriend from out of town." Grinning, Wesley thinks it over for a minute.

"That might just work. I'll give it a shot. You and your aunt are coming to our antique show this weekend?" Mary Ann stopped to think for a while! Knowing her twin sister is coming home this weekend.

"Probably. If I get back from the airport early enough."Wesley's face fell then a bright smile faded from his face, "I'll be there putting in some work, You can bring your twin along."

Mary Ann's hand reached out the window, grabbing him and shaking. "It's a deal. got to get going." Wesley leans in and gives Mary Anna a friendly hug and heads toward his car.
