There is a side of me that cannot be seen by the eyes of a stranger.

A side that quietly waits to be heard.

A side that remains out of sight but is waiting to be found.

A side that has been circumstantially suppressed due to its existence in a less than ideal environment.

A side that must be carefully coaxed out of it's shell by the means of a genuine connection and an undeniable bond of trust.

A side that has strategically concealed itself underneath tightly crossed arms and unconvincing grins.

A side that craves love and recognition.

A side that does not want to believe that affection ultimately leads to affliction.

A side that I hope is one day able to let it's guard down, and to find it's counterpoint in another.
