I read it once, then twice. I wasn't imagining it - I had won the lottery!
To my wildest imagination, when I bought the ticket I never thought I'd win. It was a spur of the moment.
I sat on the chair in my room, what would I tell my parent, how would I do it.
My parents are as conservative as they come, betting is a no no for them and to be sincere this is not my first time. I've done a number of times in the past to push luck and now I've made ten million Naira. It's enough to change my life if invested well.
I roam my room unable to come out,
'Silvia, Silvia, come help your father look for the remote, he can't find it and he won't get his glasses, he's so stubborn', my mum ramble about my father's inability to find something even if it's in front of him, to be sincere though it really has nothing to do with glasses my father just doesn't pay attention.
I walk out of the room silently, I would find the remote and find a way to break it to them in a way that they would only think about the money.
Yeh, I'll do that, I thought to myself. I handed the remote to my father, funny enough the damn thing was right beside him.
I gave him the remote,
'Dad, hmm, can I tell you and mom some...something' I stutter.
'sure baby, anything' he replied.
I stood there frozen, couldn't get a damn thing out of my mouth,
'I wanted to tell you that you're the best parents ever' I told them the said awws and thanked me. I walked back to my room wishing I can just tell them.
