Alphonis Kafel, A Girl With A Dark Secret. Chapter Four: The Hunter Hunting Me.
I woke up the next day sprawled out and lying on my stomach. It is nine thirty six a.m and I felt like I had an okay sleep for how long I stayed up last night. The hunter had no evidence of my exsistance, if he survived from the falling tree then he could say whatever he wants to others and only a top of the line nut job would believe him. I tried to take my mind off of him and I got dressed for the day. My grandma was watching the news and I ate cereal for breakfast, I had two bowls instead of just one because of last night's failed hunt. I relaxed on the couch watching tv until I did my daily chores. Days are pretty boring while nights are all the fun, or two bad accidents in one night. I have never made an error of my existance, exept when I was fifteen and my mom saw my shredded white pants from me changing too fast that night before... But anyways, last night I risked killing twenty two people on a plane and I almost had a young male hunter post me on instagram or whataver. I possibly killed him with that tree but I'm just glad that I didn't look. When I go out tonight, I'm just gonna have to pick a different hunting spot. When night came and my grandma was deep asleep, I repeated the same steps as always. I sneaked out of the door wearing my pajamas at twelve fourty three. It is sprinkling right now but it'll only bother me for a minute. In my human form, I hate being cold AND wet! I rushed up the hill to where I knocked down the massive pine trees then shivered as I quickly got undressed. I put my pajamas in a dry spot and I began to change a little faster this time. I flew into the air when my wings were formed enough. My body changed fully into my other side before I could reach the clouds. "Soo... You plan on telling me if anything goes wrong today so I know what to avoid?" I asked my other side as flew above the thick clouds. No awnser from her but my amulet said something in its forieghn language then said in english, "Ehh... She's a bit out, should of fed her last night." "Yeesh, how much does she need to eat?" I asked. "Well if I detect any emergencies then I might just signal the Terrors to come to earth." it replied. "Ha no, an alien invasion is NOT what we need just for a meal." I said then chuckled. "Did someone mention Terrors because I could use them right about now..." my other side said tiredly then fell back asleep. "Don't listen to her." I said before my amulet could reply or agree. I flew to a different hill to hunt so I could hopefully not run into any midnight hunters. It was raining now so I don't think anyone will be out, then again, I said that last night. When I found a good place to land I began the hunt. The rain made it hard to hear prey but again, it's all about focusing. I fineally heard the prize, a herd of elk. I crouched as low as I could and carefully went through the trees. The elk were down on the vally from the hill where there were no trees. Human hunters can't hunt elk until October so I'm getting the first batch. There are over two hundred down there so I think my other side will be happy for a bit. I got into position then ran very fast out of the forest and down into the valley. The elk immediately ran as fast as they could, but they couldn't outrun a giant six legged alien. I ran next to the herd then plucked them off by two or three with single grab with my mouth. I seemed to have a habit of swollowing things whole, even in human form. Once there were around fourty left I ran apart from them then went back towards the hill. "I will say, that was much better." my other side said in a relaxed tone. "You're full of jokes today arn't you?" I said then shook out my soaked mane. I went back into the forest and immediately heard a growl. I sniffed the air and smelled something behind me, I turned to see a pair of black bears. They tried to run but I quickly snatched them up and swallowed them down. "Holy shit! You were right Ryan, I thought you were crazy! Unless we're both crazy..." a male's voice yelled out. I looked around until I saw four men in the distance holding binoculares and rifles strapped to their backs. One of the men was the same hunter from last night. They weren't quite pointing their binoculares at me so I don't think they're looking at me. I laid down in the forest but my body and wings caused the trees to shake. "Did you see that?" one hunter asked. "Yeah that was weird, but anyways, Ryan?" another replied. "I say we go down left to get them bears." The familiar hunter's voice anwsered. "Yeah and maybe we'll see the giant alien tonight ha ha!" another one yelled and laughed. "Hey he was joking right Ryan?" one asked. "Heh yeah, what's with you being so gullible Carl?" Ryan replied but I could hear his hopeful sigh. "Alright let's go." Ryan said. I waited until they were deep in the forest before I got up. I began to walk back to the clearing so I could take off. I was almost there when a guy and a woman walked into the clearing as they were talking on their walkie talkies. "Great, even when I fed you over two hundred elk and a pair of black bears you still didn't warn me." I said to my other side. "I'm just waiting until you can use our instincts and a bit of advanced brain power." she replied calmly. "Right alien training, you know, why do you never anwser how I was born with an all knowing alien adult? I mean when I was seven you were this mature you just changed your size over time." "It's complicated..." she said as we watched the two new hunters talk to each other. I was waiting for them to leave but it got worse when the other four men from earlier joined them. "Come on guys, this ain't one a.m party time in the woods." I said quietly. "Hey you love birds! I thought you two were not gonna make it?" Ryan asked. "Yeah but we changed our minds because this guy was whining about bear hunting with yall." the girl said as she plaifully pushed the other guy. He held up his hands then said "Yeah yeah, I am guilty." All six chuckled then Carl yelled, "Alright then, lets go have some fun!" They began to walk off when Ryan stopped and looked to me then back at them. "Uh guys!" I hadn't realized he had seen me at some point. "You should reeally use that head of yours at some point..." my side said as the others looked back at Ryan and the woman asked, "What's wrong?" Ryan held up his gun and pointed it at one of my eyes as he said, "This thing almost killed me yesterday... Now I am not crazy!" "I think he's gonna get one! Come on guys!" the girl said as she quickly walked up to him. I closed my eyes as a shot fired.
