Night Time Pleasures
Sometimes, I find that night time can bring great pleasure. Most people think it's a sketchy time to be out and about. I feel the exact opposite. I've loved the night time since I was a kid. Now, I love looking at the stars, as they are a constant reminder that we are much smaller than we think. I enjoy how the moon sometimes hits the clouds and creates a beautiful night picture. I also think about when the moon is gone. It gets eerily dark out. The stars aren't bright enough to light the way, yet we've used them to travel. I've wondered how that works. The Earth is roatating and the stars move across the sky. I'm not sure how they did it, but it worked. I'm very fasinated with our sky, not necessarily what's beyond it. I don't want to go to space or explore other possibilities. Space to me is not a new frontier, but a means for escape from what we've destroyed. I enjoy life on Earth and I think the possibilities of living on an 'alien' planet would be amazing. In this lifetime, I just want people to accept our losses and return to much simpler times. Looking up at the night sky for be a means for my thoughts to escape this planetary mindset. I'm able to think beyond what I normally would because the sky at night, with the stars and the crescent moon, I feel like we're only only with ourselves. Each of us are just here, we didn't ask to be. Yet, with live with constant confliction. Not just with others, but with ourselves. Society, your neighbors, people you go to church with, parents of your children's school friends, they will all judge you and make you feel like you should be less 'you.' I feel like day time ruins the sky, obviously we need the sun. I just feel at peace knowing we are only here for a second, compared to everything else out there. The things we can see with our naked eye. Night time reminds me that problems in our daily life, can be solved with a little focus. All I'm saying is you might have fear in the dark. I love how my mind begins to spark. My thoughts fly in my mind. As I leave these Earthly thoughts behind.
