Casualties of War (Part 3)

It was long and tense drive all the way to the airport. They drove inside a military zone, where Wölfe saw hundreds of young boys and girls being sent to war.
Most of them looked nervous, some tried to run away but was forced back into line.
The sight of this didn't bother him as much as before, as he was only 15 when he was conscripted to fight in the last war.
"You don't seem bothered," Edelweiss said.
"I could say the same to you," Wölfe said said, "Aren't you the one who implemented the Conscription Mandate?"
"I didn't do it, the Kaiserin did," Edelweiss answered, "We needed more numbers to strengthen our armies,"
Wölfe sighed and went silent, ending the conversation.
After a few more minutes of driving, they reached their destination. The back of a large plane that was about to send troops and supplies to the front lines.
