Covid the menace
Before the first wave hit our shores, everyone became a doctor, scientist, advisor and so forth.
Keyboard warriors of all professions became journalist, reporters, analysts.
Everyone had a view on the pressing matter, point of discussion.
You could almost feel the terror in the social media.
Arguments about being ill equipped, doctor/patient ratio, closing down of borders, flight restrictions etc,..expressed.
Then the lockdown began, schools suspended indefinitely, some workers were laid off while others permanently lost their jobs. Sadly some of these were breadwinners and it took a toll in the long run.
Small medium enterprises, subsistence farmers and even some businesses were affected badly.
So the new norm took effect.
At one stage some confirmed cases went under a bit of discrimination but soon empathy won.
A lot of confusion and speculation amidst it all.
Anyway so wearing a mask, hand sanitizing and social distancing became the emphasis.
Everyone prayed like never before.
So from the first wave we were told the second wave would be even worse and thus the alarming rise in the death toll as per the statistics.
The government had to make some tough decisions and lifted some restrictions so to help the income earners.
So today some people are working from home, while others are at work but with PPEs.
Schools are back at school but with PPEs.
It's a thought that most affected are those with existing health conditions.
So today we practice as it was taught to us by our ancestors to steam bath whenever we have a cold or get treated quickly whenever we are feverish.
And we still take extra care at all times.
And continue with our fervent petitions to Yahweh.
