the room

Write a story based on this famous excerpt from Revival by Stephen King:

He unlocked a door and led me through an office that was empty of furniture, although I could still see square clean patches on the grimy linoleum, where the legs of a desk had once stood. On the wall was a curling calendar with April 1989 showing. As I followed him into the dark room, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The air was thick with the smell of mildew and the walls were coated with a thin layer of dust. I could hear the sound of dripping water and the faint rustling of rodents scurrying in the shadows.

He flicked on a light switch, and the room illuminated with a dim, yellow glow. In the center of the room was a large metal table, and on top of it lay a collection of rusty tools and implements. I couldn't help but shudder as I imagined what they had been used for.

"Welcome to my laboratory," he said with a sinister grin. "I've been waiting for someone like you to come along."

I tried to back away, but he grabbed my arm and pulled me closer. His eyes gleamed with a mad intensity as he began to explain his plans.

"You see, I've been studying the human brain for years now, trying to unlock its secrets. And I believe that with your help, I can finally achieve my goal."

I tried to pull away, but his grip was too strong. He began to strap me to the table, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.

As he approached me with a gleaming scalpel, I knew that I was in for a world of pain. But even worse than the physical agony was the knowledge that I would be forever trapped in this madman's laboratory, a subject of his twisted experiments for all eternity.

And as he began to make his first incision, I knew that I had made a fatal mistake by following him into that empty office, and that I would never escape the clutches of this horror.
