Continuation....


I got up suddenly when a policeman came and opened the cell where I was staying. He looked at me seriously and motioned me to come out so I immediately obeyed him.

'Your attorney is here.'

Hope is evident on my face. I was also detained for eight hours in the cell so I bet my attorney has good news right now. I saw him wearing a nice tuxedo. This man is a good looking man on his old days.

'Attorney, where's David?'

'I called him, he's not coming now. He told me that he's busy.'

'I understand, so how's my case attorney?'

'They are still doing their investigation Joey. I want to be honest with you. They have an evidence.'

From what he said, I knew that this is going to be tough. I also told him the truth. He understand me and promised me to do his best. I know David will never abandoned me because he's with me all the time.

'Attorney, can I get out of here?

'You can Joey. But, it's better if you'll stay here for a while. The medias are going crazy. There are a lot of assumptions about you.'

'I can't just stay here attorney. I need to find the truth.'

'No need to worry about it. David will help you.'

'I know but there's something wrong.'

'What it is Joey?'

'I can't explain. I can't figure it out. This, this is all a set up since from the beginning.'

'I know what you:re thinking. That's why we're here for you. Whe are doing our best to catch the culprit.'

I was restless that I was just staring inside the cell. I no longer care if my name was ruined. All I need is the truth. After our conversation I went back inside the cell. I can't sleep with too much thought. Only one person knows this secret and that was David.

'I need to talk to him.'

The news spread easily. I've heard a lot of bad things about me. There are also others who do not believe and still waiting for the result. I couldn't stop crying because of the thought. I cannot be imprisoned for life.

It was morning but I still couldn't sleep. I'm waiting for David and attorney to return. Soon the cell guard returned and opened the door. I was just waiting to open it and went out after he motioned me to go out.

'Joey!'

'Attorney.'

'How's your sleeping inside? Did you sleep well?'

'I can't sleep.'

'Oh, I see.'

'By the way, where's David?'

'I dialled his number a while ago. But he didn't pick up!'

'Damn!'

'Relax Joey! maybe he's doing his job.'

'Relax? I can't relax here attorney. My name was ruined already and David never showed up. How can I relax?'

'Let David do his job Joey. He's the one who answered the presscon, the medias and other problems that you've done.'

I stopped at what he said. He was right, I had too much trouble with David. I never thought how he would feel right now. I was suddenly embarrassed by what I did.

'I'm sorry attorney.'

'It's okay. Anyways, I'm here to warn you joey.'

'What is it?'

'Their investigation worsened.'

'Why?'

'They dug where you buried the corpse.'

I was even more frustrated by what I found out. I'm losing hope. Even though attorney and david do their job but the evidences are more stronger. David is the only one who knew where we buried the body.

I can't imagine my life to be imprisoned. I'm an actor but turns out to be a criminal. But deep down, I know I'm an innocent. I was set up!

'Joey!'

'David, I'm glad that you visited me right now.'

'I'm sorry, I was busy.'

'No, I'm sorry david. Seems that I gave you a lot of problems.'

'It all happened.'

'So, How's everything?'

'Joey, I know attorney told you about the body. I didn't know about it. I was shocked that the investigator saw it. It seems that someone point out all the evidence.'

'David, only the two of us know. It's impossible for anyone to see what we've done. We made sure everything was clean, right?'

'I, I don't know Joey.'

No one spoke to the two of us. Both of us think deeply. I wanted to blame him also but I can't blame david for what happened because it was all my fault in the first place.

We took steps to solve my problem. David also warned me that this case will surely need justice especially that the investigators got all the evidences. I was hopeless right now. My mind and body are not cooperating.

Days goes by and the news is still worsen. Medias were waiting outside the precinct to find an answer. My fears have come. My case has been raised in justice. Tomorrow is my hearing on justice hall. I need to prepare.



'Are you ready?'

'Even if I say no. I still need to face this problem.'

'You have to Joey.'

'Where's David by the way?'

'He will be late but he said he will come.'

'Why?'

'I don't know.'

'Can you call him?'

The attorney called david but no one answered. Some things are already entering my mind but I fought it. David is a true friend. He is the only one I can count on. I was ushered into the the hall with a handcuffed and there were cops on my side. All eyes on me. But I refuse to look at them. I don't want to see their disgusting look.

'Please, all stand.'

I don't listen to what the judge says. I just focused my attention on the front. I'm hopeless. I want to rest and hoping that this is just a bad dream. The system continued with the investigators releasing evidence. All of that is indicated to me. Even fingerprints were confirmed that was mine.

I wonder, why the investigator saw only my fingerprints and they never mentioned about David's fingerprints? I don't want to brag him in this case but he was there. He was there, holding a corpse without using any gloves. Why is it that the investigator just only saw my fingerprints then.

When it was my turn to speak I revealed to them that I didn't killed the woman. That I was innocent and I was just set up. I answered all their questions. I can't explain much because I don't remember anything after the party. I was sent back to my seat and only then I notice that David was still not here. I asked my attorney but I got the same answered.

The people became even louder when they heard that another witness was coming to confirm the evidence. I was trembling, I prayed that this not what I thinking. But when the door opened and saw him. I felt like stabbed a thousand times. David betrayed me. He walk gracefully and turn his gazed on me. I saw the other side of him.

From there, I know I was stupid to trust him. I trusted him for the rest of my life. And to think that he's my friend. I know then that I can't escape his set up. But why? Why did he betrayed me? I saw a glint of disgust in his eyes. I didn't know that he hate me this much.
