Goga Nawami
Churu district is known for three important places :
1- Salasar Balaji
2- Taal chhapar black buck sanctuary
3- Dadrewa, the place of birth of folk deity Gogaji.
Goga Nawami is the birthday of the god of snakes ' Gogaji Maharaj'. Today is Goga Nawami and it is a local holiday in churu district.
The famous Deru dance is also performed on this day at each Goga Medi in the afternoon with the Songs of Gogaji which are called Gogaji ki Chhawali in this region.
Churu is also famous for having highest temperature in summer and lowest temperature in winter.
By and large it is a peaceful region to live.
Some of the great leaders of the region who have also contributed to the rajasthan politics like Ch. Kumbha Ram Arya, ch. Daulat Ram Saharan and Sh. Chandan Mal Baid were from here.
Gogaji is the folk deity of the region and known as the god of snakes. In old times snake bite cases were cured at the temple of Gogaji' popularly known as Gogaji ki Medi'.
The Gogaji is worshiped with the bhog of Kheer & Churma.
In the public it is believed that where Gogaji is worshiped ,there is no danger of snake bite.
