Chapter 24: Meeting Jack

Ryan and Myra held hands and talked for some time until Ryan realized he needed to prepare the documents and submit them in court the first thing the next morning. He kissed Myra's hand and said, 'I'll have to go now, my love. I need to prepare to bring back Emma as soon as possible.' He then kissed Myra's forehead and left. He went outside where her parents were eagerly waiting to find out what happened. Myra's mother, on seeing Ryan, got excited. She called her father, and they walked towards Ryan and asked him, 'So, how did it go? Are you two okay now?' Ryan couldn't contain his happiness and smiled. He said, 'We are more than okay now, Cynthia,' and Ryan hugged Myra's parents. He then took his leave to go home and prepare for releasing Emma back to her family. He took a cab, went home, and once he reached, he started searching for his keys in his pocket. It was almost 8 pm at night; the streetlights were blinking, and it was quite dark. Suddenly, Ryan felt a movement on the stairs of his house and slowly walked towards it, he felt he saw a shadow while the streetlights were occasionally blinking. He asked, 'Who is there? Is someone there?' He felt he saw a shadow-like figure move again and shouted, 'Who is it? Show yourself!' The shadow slowly walked towards him.
