THE EXHUMATION**2**

Standing at the window looking at the parking lot,I see my sister Kanila holding a smiling baby in her hands.Today is going to be a happy day.I am going to spend it with my family.I have been spending time with Leelah four times a week and today being one of them,I had woken up early and prepared myself to receive her.
Few minutes later,my door opens and in steps the nurse on duty Anerisa."You look lovely...See who's here to see you.Leelah darling!"Bouncing up and down in my sister's arm,beams the most beautiful being I have ever seen.I run to take her away and get lost in our mother-daughter bliss.I rain dry and wet kisses on her.After spending more time with my daughter, I ask the question that would soon turn my life around."Where's David? Sweetie where's your daddy?''
From the side of my eyes,I could see the silent exchange between the nurse and my sister as she was signaled to take the baby away.With a sweet wet kiss on her rosy cheeks I give her away.That's when the sombre mood finally comes to its peak.The two were not at ease with me like they have always been."Well,you will have to come with us today Mrs.Said.We will take you back home today."This comes from Anerisa who comes to help me sit on my chair by the window.Kanila goes out to wait for us in the car as Anerisa gets my things ready.
I am soon at my home where everyone looks at me like an alien but still,no husband.The whole house is full of family and friends,some keep telling me sorry and asking me to be strong.I decide to go to our bedroom and close the door behind me.Blocking their madness and meaningless apologies.
To my relief,I hear water running in the bathroom.With a wide smile, I tiptoe to the bathroom and find David standing by the sink brushing his hair.He turns around and gives me his special bewitching smiles and kisses me."There you are handsome!What took you so long?I was waiting for you but you didn't come.The house is full of visitors but I don't understand why?"He holds my hand and leads me back to the living room.
The room finally dies down when I announce to them that we welcome them to our house.''My Love,I will go get some drinks for the visitors now.Help them around please.''He smiles back and again kisses me.Suddenly, I felt a gentle pat on my shoulder and I was soon in Kanila's arms.''Am so sorry Liya, he's gone.I didn't know how to tell you.He died in an accident yesterday night.''What was happening here?What was she talking about? Everyone was in tears and I couldn't understand why.I turn to my husband and ask him,''What is she talking about?Can you ask her,I think she's loosing her mind.''David turns around and hold Kanila,''Kanila dear, don't cry,you are making her more stressed.''There now, I turn and take my unconsolable sister into a hug and soothe her softly.
The crying continues until it suddenly stops when I ask David to give a glass of water to the now calm Kanila.'Take the glass now and drink some water my darling sister.''She bursts into more tears and everyone follows.Is it true.Is my husband really dead?Why hasn't he been able to help me serve these visitors?Things were so strange and I cried.Cried for nobody was believing that Dave wasn't dead.Cried for my sad sister.Cried from exhaustion.I was tired but David was there to hold me like always.Because he's still here.I will have to prove it to them.
