( Where the Flowers Bloom ) # 2
Izzy -

My mother stood over near the meat, while I stood next to the bathrooms. I haven't seen her since I was kicked out by my father, because I'm pregnant, and I am only a month away from having this baby.

I waited for her to move, but she didn't, she just stood there. Finally she turned, and that's when I walked fast to my cart and I whipped it around.

Mom -

I looked over my shoulder a bit, Izzy was running quickly to an isle. I was curious, did she see me? Did she notice me being unhappy because this was our time together?

Izzy -

I strolled with the cart down the isle. As long as I stayed out of the side where all the food is, I'm pretty sure she won't come over here, near the baby isle.

Mom -

I followed behind her, she smiled a little as she grabbed two little shoes.

Izzy -

"Go alone he says," I rolled my eyes, "I go alone, and find so much stuff, and he never is there," I slowly grabbed a small blanket, "that's okay, it doesn't matter to me."

Mom -

Hearing her talk, really made me smile.

Izzy -

I put the small blanket in the cart. "Maybe daddy will come next time..." I whispered.

Mom -

I sadly looked down a bit, her tummy wasn't showing, I don't even know when she's due.

Izzy -

"Right..." this woman looked at me strangely, "talking to myself..." I sighed. Nothing has changed. I'm the same as I was before I got knocked up. "Just one more month," I put the blanket back on the shelf.

Mom -

A month!? Has that much time really went by!?

Izzy -

I yawned a little. "Your not a boy, that's for sure," I smiled and grabbed a pink blanket.

Mom -

Oh...that's why she put it back.

Izzy -

Slowly I started walking. I got to a cradle area, "wow..." I looked at the prices. I chuckled a little. The thought of West popping up into my head, made me giggle, and soon I was crying while laughing. West told me he could build a cradle, after he said that, his hammer he had in his hand, hit the side of the one he was building, and the things fell apart as if it was glued.

Mom -

Izzy never giggled, or laughed when she was at home, she was so... miserable now that I think about it.

Izzy -

"You were no mistake," that night when I got drunk, I knew what I wanted, but, did I expect West to rape me unconscious, not really...but I still love him...the quarter back and the nerd.

Mom -

What does she mean, no mistake!?

Izzy -

I felt someone standing behind me, so I moved, because I thought maybe they'd want to look at something. Instead, the person walked away.

Mom -

I went around the shelfing so that she couldn't see me.

Izzy -

I felt more kicks than I did the other night. "Okay, okay, please stop kicking mommy's tummy?" I felt like I was going to be sick again.

Mom -

Izzy grabbed her purse and slowly left the cart where it was. I hid when she came back. Another bathroom break.

Izzy -

"Just about done," I smiled as I placed my hand on the cart. "Okay...now, I think is the best time to sneek out of this isle."

Mom -

Is she trying to avoid me?

Izzy -

I slowly managed to turn the corner, I sighed in relief that she wasn't there.

Mom -

I smirked a little.

Izzy -

I about had a heart attack, she came out in front of me, and just walked by! She didn't look at me though...she's playing with me! She used to do that when I was little, I'd hide from her, and she'd pretend I wasn't there, and then...she'd...find me. That's what she did, she came up behind me, and hugged me.

Mom -

"Izzy," I smiled big, and I kissed her cheek. "Your father wouldn't let me see you," I whispered, and rest my forehead on her shoulder. "I want you in my life, it would be different if your father were the one that birthed you, but he wasn't."

Izzy -

I was completely shocked.

Mom -

"I love you Izzy," I hugged her more, "and I don't care if your pregnant or not, as long as your happy, that's all I can think about."

Izzy -

"Mom..." My voice shook.

Mom -

"Now, will you shop with me?" Izzy sighed, then nodded a little. I smiled big. We went on my shopping role, Izzy smiled when I wasn't looking, I know she did, because I caught her smiling. She enjoys seeing me, just as much as I enjoy seeing her.

Izzy -

We slowly walked through baby stuff, I was so embarrassed though, mom kept picking things up, and handing them to me.

Mom -

"Your going to need these."

Izzy -

"Ma..." She stopped and looked at me. "Me and West...so far...have everything planned..." I looking down at the poor cart, getting heavier by the moment. "Well, okay, not really, but, me and West are getting married, and...I need to keep some of my money, so that I can be more responsible."

Mom -

"Honey, I never said you had to pay for it," her eyes widened.

Izzy -

"Mom, it's too expensive," I complained, but she placed her hand up.

Mom -

"No more," I smiled at her. "I want to do something for my little girl."

Izzy -

"Mom, I'm pregnant, not a little girl, so, stop embarrassing me!" I put my head down, a lot of people were giggling at us.

Mom -

"Oh, fine."

Izzy -

"Promise to stop your nonsense?"

Mom -

"Nope."

Izzy -

I groaned. I stared off for a moment.

Mom -

"Hey," I waved my hand in her face.

Izzy -

"Do you mind!?" She bounced back. I was staring at a boy, I don't know why I was, but I was.

Mom -

"What...are we looking at?"

Izzy -

The boy smiled at me, he was very tall, but something wasn't right, I felt something off, like I know him...

Mom -

"Izzy," I tapped her shoulder, she jumped back.

Ben -

She's the girl from the party, my little brother wanted to have sex with her, but, he passed out cold, so, it was just me and her, we talked for a while, then had sex.

Izzy -

He started stepping close, and mom went from looking at me, to the man coming closer.

Ben -

"Hey," I smiled. She frowned at me.

Izzy -

"Who the fuck are you?" He frowned.

Ben -

"Ben, you know, from the party?"

Izzy -

"Party?..." I was confused a little. "I never met you..."

Ben -

"We talked for two hours...you seriously don't remember?" I looked down at her, she...is pregnant...

Izzy -

"No...I...don't..." I whispered. "Should, I?"

Ben -

"Izzy, I'm West's older brother," I was a little hurt now. "We had sex that night at the boat party."

Mom -

"Boat party!? I thought you said a dance at your school!"

Izzy -

"I wanted to go out Mom! What's so wrong with that!? I got drunk because of West! Here I am! Pregnant!"

Ben -

"Izzy, that's my baby," she froze. "I heard my little bro got with a girl, but I didn't know it was you," I whispered. "My father is a general," I smiled.

Izzy -

That explains why he's in uniform. I slowly put my purse down, and I walked up to him. "I remember now..." I took my hands, and placed them on his face, I had to stand on my tippy toes. "The ring...it was never from West...was it?" He shook his head no.

Ben -

"West likes getting handy with the girls..." I crossed my arms.

Izzy -

"Handy?" He nodded. I looked over at my mother, "handy?" She was frowning.

Mom -

"He wants to know, if...his brother touched you in any way."

Izzy -

I rolled my eyes, "I haven't been touched since I got pregnant," I sighed. "Not to be slutty, but, I really miss, getting handy," I placed my forehead on his shoulder.

Mom -

"Excuse me!?"

Izzy -

"Shhh, I'm trying to figure out something..." I looked up to meet his eyes. He smirked a little.

Ben -

"As long, as he didn't touch you," I placed my hands on her lower back. She let out a small squeak.

Izzy -

"I'm...ticklish there."

Ben -

"I know."

Izzy -

"How much did I tell you that night?" I raised an eyebrow at him.

Ben -

"A lot," I whispered as I lowered down close to her ear. "Now," I stepped back leaving her in suspense. "This is my first time meeting your mother, I feel like a proper introduction needs to be done. I'll pay for lunch."

Izzy -

"You can't just!"

Ben -

"Your hungry," I booped her nose. "You get cranky when you don't have food."

Izzy -

"What!? No I don't!" I growled.

Ben -

"Yes, you do," she bit her lip in a seductive way.

Izzy -

"Fine...I haven't eaten since...this morning..." I looked down a bit, as my tummy grumbled.

Ben -

"Here," I held my hand out, she smiled a little, her cheeks rosey, as she took my hand.

Mom -

I don't like this.

Ben -

"Now, let's go...and have some... family time," I looked at her mother, then back at Izzy. "Izzy, forget about West."

Izzy -

"Already did," he raised an eyebrow.

Ben -

"I'm pretty sure, you thought you two were together."

Izzy -

I smiled. "Yes...but I didn't know the person I slept with was handsome," I crossed my arms, "better than a boy..."

Ben -

"Boy? Oh? Are you saying you and my brother..."

Izzy -

"Heavens no, he wouldn't, his excuse was that, he'd hurt the baby," I rolled my eyes, "but honestly I'm dying for some sexual tention relief."

Ben -

"If I answer to your needy plead, I'm pretty sure your mom won't like that."

Izzy -

We slowly looked over, we were getting a very bad look from her. "Mom, I'm seventeen..." I shrugged. "I can have sex."

Mom -

"No, it's not right, your pregnant...that's not even right!"

Izzy -

"It is to! You don't get it ma! I did this to myself!" They both tensed up.

Ben -

"Hub?"

Izzy -

"I wanted to get away from the control, and all my depression in the damn family...and so...I could only find one reason, to keep you and papa from...controlling me anymore..." I sighed. "I wanted to do art, but you and papa wanted me to be a house wife."

Mom -

"There is nothing wrong with being a house wife!"

Izzy -

"There is to! Difference's matter ma! You and me are different! I want to make a name for myself! Not some house wife..." I looked at Ben. "So, I went to the boat party instead of the school dance...and me and Ben had sex...not intensionally...I would have never done it..." I whispered. "Never...if I would have completely been awake... I would have went home...but I was drunk...and my mind was free from control, and so, I had my night out."

Ben -

Izzy pulled her arms away from me, and she grabbed the cart handle.

Izzy -

"I am sorry," I whispered. I slowly grabbed my purse.

Ben -

"It's fine," I patted her head. "We will get through this together Izzy," I smiled big at her. She frowned a little more. "I promise."

Izzy -

"It doesn't matter Ben, decide where you want to go to lunch, then we will go, and then get far away from each other..."

Ben -

"Izzy, where are you going?" She started walking off.

Izzy -

"Hell, you wanna go?" He rolled his eyes at me and jogged quickly to me. Mom came up behind and ran Ben's ass over with the cart. That's what it took to bring her smile back. Ben didn't dare to sit next to her in the restaurant.

Ben -

"Your mother is very...tense..."

Izzy -

I sighed. She was in the bathroom. "Tense isn't the word for it Ben." He smiled.

Ben -

"Why is she like that?"

Izzy -

"Papa went to war, and she raised me alone, and when he came back, he made her like she is now, a bitch," I slowly put my face in my hands. "My father would get drunk a lot, and he'd do unthinkable things, mom once went shopping, and papa read me a horror story...then he gave me a drink," I shrugged once more. "So, he had me drink all the alcohol...I got so sick..."

Ben -

"He doesn't sound to much of a good father."

Izzy -

"He went to rehab, but when he came back, he was different, my mother was terrified that he'd try getting me to drink again," I smiled a little, "so she hid me in a hamper.

Ben -

"A hamper?" She nodded.

Izzy -

"He found me though, and he gave me a hug, and that's the only love he ever shared."

Ben -

"That's...depressing..." I grabbed her hand. "Now, is it a boy, or a girl?"

Izzy -

"I'm going home...tell my mother where I went," I got up slowly.

Ben -

"Woah..."

Izzy -

"Stop...pretending..." I whispered. "I know what you want...but your not having it..." He went quiet, I handed him back the ring. "It's okay, if you don't want the baby, or me, and just feel like you half to prove something," I looked down slowly. "That's okay, just...stop hurting me, and move on already, because I'm not waiting anymore."

Ben -

She surprised me.

Izzy -

"Now, have a good day."

Ben -

Her mother was standing right behind her, when she said everything. "Where are you going?"

Izzy -

"I have a house," I whispered. I smiled a bit, "did you actually think I wouldn't have a house, or job just because I'm pregnant?" I sighed. "I'm doing it for my baby," I crossed my arms. "I sacraficed, a lot, and I'm ready to pay the consequences...of my actions."

Ben -

"You...work..."

Izzy -

"Yes! I work! I own a coffee shop! I live above it..."

Mom -

"Since when?"

Izzy -

"For a long time..."

Ben -

"No, that's impossible, your to..."

Izzy -

"It's not impossible! If I can get impregnated! Then I sure in hell have a right to own, my own business!"

Ben -

"That's not what I mean, what I mean is, you didn't seem like the type to run a coffee shop."

Izzy -

"Shut up!" I felt a trickle go down my legs. My heart dropped.

Ben -

She went silent. She then grabbed the table as if she was dizzy.

Mom -

"Izzy?" She put her hand at me.

Izzy -

"I'm fine." I got to the restaurant door, and out I went. Once I got to my car, I went to the hospital. I told the nurse and doctors I had no family. So, it was just me, and the baby girl. I named her, Sky.

Mom -

Izzy closed her coffee shop for a while. Her father was curious on how she works, we went to see, so, we knocked on the door, that said, "sorry, we're close."

Izzy -

Sky just fell asleep after I breast fed her and burped her. I lost some weight, but not much. I looked me up down, okay, I haven't gained or lost anything. I heard some knocking on the door downstairs. Thought I put a sign up, but I suppose it's probably that's blind and can't see...now I feel bad.

Dad -

The door slowly opened, to a smiling Izzy, but her smile faded very fast.

Izzy -

"Sorry, but, we're closed, if you come back next week on Monday, maybe..." they frowned at me.

Mom -

"Cut it out," I sighed.

Izzy -

"Cut what out? Whatever do you mean?" She glared at me.

Dad -

"So...you work here..."

Izzy -

He peered through the opening of the door. "I'm...painting...redoing things..."

Mom -

I smiled. "That sounds like fun...can we..."

Dad -

"Painting is not..." Ashley elbowed me hard in the side.

Mom -

"We'd love to help."

Izzy -

I smiled a little, "uh...sure...just...don't go upstairs," I was blowed put. They came in and got a gander of the room.

Mom -

"It's very...cozy."

Izzy -

"Thanks," I rolled my eyes while taking their coats and locking the door once more.

Dad -

"Been busy?"

Izzy -

"No...like I said...I'm refurnishing everything, well, I didn't say it particularly in that order, but...I'm just redoing things."

Mom -

"Where should we start?"

Izzy -

I handed her a roller. "In the corner," she frowned a little.

Mom -

"Your putting me in a corner?"

Izzy -

I sighed. "Where would you like to go?" She smiled. Her smiling disappeared though after the baby crying from upstairs.

Mom -

"What...was that?"

Izzy -

"I'm in training...it's a fake doll..." I lied.

Dad -

"I think that fake doll needs attention."

Izzy -

"Yes...now, stay...down here." I went and got Sky back to sleep, "there we go..." I whispered to her.

Mom -

We heard some sniffles. Izzy came back downstairs, and she looked at me.

Izzy -

"It's not a fake baby," I crossed my arms. "I had her four days ago."

Dad -

"Her? A girl?"

Izzy -

"Yes..." I whispered. "I was planning on...taking a nap...while...Sky naps...but you both showed up out of the blue." Dad frowned at me. He wanted to see her, I could tell, but I closed the door and looked down. "I know you both think I'm crazy, and that I can't do it, but I can..."

Mom -

She shook a little, she looked sick.

Izzy -

"I'm doing my best, and so far, I've managed everything on my own," I looked up at my father. "Sky is a very quiet baby, except for her cranky days..."

Mom -

"Izzy, how long have you been here alone, doing this?"

Izzy -

"Four, ma, it's not a big deal."

Mom -

I nodded. "It is a big deal, you look sick," I got close to her and I felt her forehead, but she bounced back immediately.

Izzy -

"I said I'm fine!" I growled.

Mom -

"Your running a fever! You think that's fine!?"

Izzy -

"I just need rest ma!" She grabbed my hand.

Mom -

"Rest? Izzy, you should have said something to me...now, go lay down, I'll make some soup, and I'll take care of Sky."

Izzy -

I sighed and agreed, there was no point on disagreeing with her. She is some times always right. "I don't need help," I flew my idea out of sleeping.

Mom -

"Izzy, you said you needed rest, now get some rest."

Izzy -

"I don't trust you and pa," I crossed my arms.

Mom -

"Why?"

Izzy -

"Because, I don't like the idea of leaving my baby in the two of your hands, when was the last time you held a baby? Or even taken care of one?"

Mom -

"Seventeen years ago, I had a baby," I patted her shoulder. "She grew up."

Izzy -

"Wonderful," I rolled my eyes at her.

Dad -

"We had you more respective, towards your elders."

Izzy -

"No, you had me miserable, I couldn't even stand up for myself," I sighed. I felt dizzy a little. The doctor said I needed rest, but I have no time for it.

Dad -

"So, if you won't let us see her...the lest you can do is listen to our advice."

Izzy -

"I'm fine," I whispered. Ma started rolling the paint on the wall.

Dad -

"Izzy, we are here to help you."

Izzy -

"No!" I opened the door fast and locked it. I refused to let him in.

Mom -

Her father sighed.

Dad -

"Such a fickle."

Mom -

"Leave her alone Rick."

Dad -

"I don't understand her."

Mom -

"I see it, don't you? She's afraid of us," I crossed my arms. He sighed.

Izzy -

"Pfft! I ain't afraid!" I mumbled. I picked up Sky, she smiled a little, her little blue eyes looking at me. "There we go," I changed her diaper. Just as I heard a door creek open. I looked over a bit. The window was open.

Dad -

There was a loud thud on the top floor. I unlocked the door and we went upstairs. She had her baby tucked in her arms, and she just, stared at the door that was open.

Mom -

"You okay?"

Izzy -

I blinked a few times. "Here," I handed her Sky. "I'm going to bed."

Dad -

Her mother smiled, the little baby stared at her, then started crying.

Mom -

"Shhh."

Izzy -

"She likes being bumped a little," I tried showing with my hands, but they looked at me awkwardly. "Damnit," I shook my head and just went to my room.

Dad -

We stared after her. I looked around, there was blood, dripping on the carpet, I followed the trail, to, Izzy's door.

Izzy -

"Ouch!" I whispered. Ben slowly took the glass out of my hand.

Ben -

"You need to be careful," she placed her forehead on my shoulder.

Izzy -

"Your right...I'm sorry...I just...didn't think you were actually going to show up...I didn't think..."

Ben -

"Izzy, I thought a lot since the last we spoke," she looked up at me. "I want to be with you."

Izzy -

"No you don't," I whispered to him. "I can't believe you broke into my apartment..." I whispered.

Ben -

"Izzy, for the last time, why won't you believe me? Why won't you accept the fact, that I'm not going anywhere and I'm here, always will be here."

Izzy -

"Because..." I looked down in disappoinment. "These feelings I have right now, are undescribable," I looked into her eyes. "I don't know...what I'm feeling...I...know...I don't want to feel it anymore though..."

Ben -

"What's so bad about love Izzy?"

Izzy -

"It never lasts..."
