Love,Divorce and Everything else
Chapter 25 : The court case.

Ryan stood next to the door, blank for a few moments. He was angry. He walked towards the living room, sat down for a moment trying to calm himself down, and gather his thoughts. His hands were shaking with anger, and he felt he was about to burst out of anger that he had kept hidden in the corner of his mind for too many years. He wished he had someone to talk to. He wished Myra was there. He wished things were not so difficult. He wished his cousin and aunt would just let them be and leave them alone. He wished to go back to the day he first saw Myra and kissed her for the first time. He closed his eyes and rested in the living room for some time, thinking over things, still trying to calm himself down. Suddenly, his living room phone rang. He shouted, 'Now what?' and got up to get the phone. He said, 'Yes, who is this?' The woman responded, 'Sir, this is Vicky, the head nurse at the hospital. We have been trying to reach you all day. You had asked us to call you for any bills.' Ryan responded, "Oh, yes. Please tell me," Vicky said, "Sir, we are ready to release Myra from the hospital after 1 day as her recovery is good. So, would you like me to send you the bills on that date?" Ryan replied, "Oh, yes, please. Don't bother them for anything. If you wish to send the bill in advance right now, I could settle it right away, and we can take care of adjustments later." Vicky assured, "Sure, sir, will send you by tomorrow. We will get them prepared." Ryan expressed, "Thank you, Vicky." Ryan then felt better hearing some good news. Myra is finally going home and recovering. He went to pick up his mail, which was still in the letterbox, and was happy that his friend had sent the restraining order to be signed by Myra and her family. He then returned to the living room, picked up the phone, and called his assistant Allen, asking him to get a new mobile for him as he had lost his phone. He then thought for a few moments and called one of his previous colleagues, Alex, asking for help in preparing a case against the child services.
He asked to also get a court order for no visitation to the child apart from her mother's parents and mother. His friend agreed to get that done the next day. Ryan then went to his study and started preparing the documents for the case against the child protective services. He was to submit them first thing the next morning. However, he was feeling restless because he knew it might take weeks or months to get the hearing date. However, he was hopeful that either the child services would drop the case as they don't have enough evidence to prove their case in court, or even if they don't, the court will rule in his favor due to lack of evidence against Myra and her family for any negligence or endangerment to the child. Ryan worked through the night to get the documents prepared. It was almost 4 in the morning. He gathered the papers in a file, kept them on his desk, and went to bed to get some sleep.

Ryan then got up at 8 am and got ready to go to court and filed the paperwork. He was happy that his friend was able to get him a hearing on the 25th of July, which was only after 2 days. He left the court and went straight to the hospital to see Myra and share the news. He was excited and couldn't wait to see Myra and share the good news. Once he arrived at the hospital, he straight went towards Myra's room. He saw Cynthia standing outside the room, and she looked worried. He asked her, 'Is everything okay?' She responded, 'No, my son, you better go in, she is very upset right now.' Ryan walked in, and Myra was lying on the bed with her head tilted to the left. He went to her side and asked her, 'My love, are you okay?' Myra looked at Ryan with tears in her eyes, and her eyes were turning red, maybe due to constantly crying for some time. She slowly said, 'Open the drawer,' and looked at the drawer to her left. When Ryan opened it, there were paperwork from the court. Ryan pulled out the papers and started reading them while Myla stayed still and quiet and kept crying. These were court documents from Jack, stating he wants Emna back, claiming Myra is an unfit mother and unable to take care of the child. He then ran through the papers some more and there was another notice stating she fraudulently influenced Albert and had a relationship with him. Due to this, Jack ended the marriage and they wanted to claim the whole property back from Myra and filed a second lawsuit against her. Ryan got upset reading through the papers and said, 'The nerves of these people. I cannot believe that even after my warnings, these people don't seem to back down.' But Myra, don't worry; I will take care of all of this.' Myra didn't say anything and simply said, 'I want to be alone right now, Ryan. Please, could you leave this room?' Ryan tried to console her and placed his hand on hers, but she pulled her hand away and looked away. Ryan got all the papers back in the file, quietly got up, and started walking away. But before he left the room, he turned around and said, 'I told you I will fix everything and I will. I will do everything in my power to get you what's yours, whether it's the rights to the property, and I will get Emma back as soon as possible. I promise you.' Myra did not respond and stayed quiet, so he slowly and heartbrokenly walked out of the room.
