Chapter 2: Life goes on let' s move on
Myra was tired of thinking how life was and tired of the nightmares about Jake hitting her. She would just wakeup in the middle of the night and run to check on Emma and make sure she was okay.
Myra was also afraid that if someday Jake found out about Emma, he might try to take her away afterall he was the biological father and she did not have anyone in her life.
She went to her kitchen in the middle of the night and poured herself a glass of wine and sat down at the table and started thinking deeply. She then suddenly jumped out of the chair and went to the desk in the living room to grab her diary and a pen and went back to the kitchen.
She sat down and took a sip of her wine and started thinking about something again. She then took another sip of her wine and while she had the glass in her hand, got up from her chair and started looking around house. Slowly walking through the house in the middle of the night and asking herself, there is something missing it seems. Its not a man that she misses but misses the fact that she hardly has time for such moments where she has time for herself because she has been workingvso hard lately or concentrating on spending time with Emma.
She passed the mirror while walking in the house and suddenly stopped and walked back. She slowly moved towards the mirrion and stood in front of it. She then started looking at her face and how it has changed or how her body has changed over time.
She was still young but she could see how sad her face looked and how tensed she looked unlike when she was young and free. The time before meeting him and during their 5 years relationship. She still remembers she could not stop smiling when he proposed for marriage. Myra could not look att herself anymore in the mirror and turned her back towards it and thinking, why did you change Jake?why did you come into my life and turned it upside down?what went wrong?what more could I have done to keep our relationship? and she broke down and sat on the floor and broke into tears.
Suddenly she heard Emma crying and wiped her tears and got up and rushed into her rooms and one look at Emmas face and she calmed down and gently picked up Emma held her close and said it's okay baby, it's okay Emma, mumma is here, did I wake u up baby? and Emma stopped crying and Myra slowly put Emma back in her crib and looked into Emmas big brown hopeful eyes and realised, there is hope, she is strong, she did the right thing and Emma deserves all her love and attention.
Myra gently stroked her hand on Emma's head and her face and said it's okay baby, it's okay Emma, thank you baby, you just made me realise this is true love. You came when I needed you the most, I promise you Emma, mamma is going to be strong and take care of you.You will grow up to be a strong person.Mamma will never cry again Emma don't worry. I promise you we will be okay.
