The Bitter Truth
Oh!! What a wonderful morning it is today i exclaimed to my husband. The sun was shining brightly and all the people were rushing to reach to their workplace. I was standing at the bus stop waiting for my bus to come. It was 8:15 A.M. and the heat was increasing, Of course, its the month of May and this year the heat was getting unbearable, nevertheless, it was a beautiful day i thought to myself.
My bus was here, I climbed the bus and waved goodbye to my husband. It is a
1 hour journey and then a 1k.m walk to reach my office(I know, this kindof sounds like how our older generation would usually describe their daily routine of travelling to schools and colleges 😜).
As soon as I enter the bus I usually put my ear phone and start listening to music. I have my favorite collection of songs in different languages in my playlist.
But, today was different I don't know what was happening I started observing everything that was happening outside through the window(By the way, I love window seats😅). The chaos, the traffic, the trees the birds and everything. I thought to myself, that's strange why am I suddenly so intrested in nature and all that's around me, i have never bothered to even look out of the window until yesterday. It was always my phone and me.
I never realised how 1hour just passed away and it was time for me to get down, I hopped out from my seat got down and started walking. Today's walk was also different. Even tough the heat was unbearable, I kind off enjoyed it, looking around at all the people, some were joging, few aged people were walking and having a hearty laugh together, there were kids who were playing cricket. Observing everything I didn't realise when I reached my office.I got inside , and as usual one of my friend had already arrived before me,there were not many people in the office since no one would reach that early. He joking told me , "what happened, today your bus came earlier than usual I guess but still I reached before you". To which i laughed and opened my laptop to check what all had to be done for the day.
Suddenly, I heard a voice calling my name many time, I was perplexed. Whats happening, i thought to myself. ..
I opened my eyes slowly and then I realized........

My dear, its already 9 A.M, you have overslept, don't you have a meeting at 10. It was my husband.
Ohhhh No!! I was dreaming..
It was all a dream, I got up from my bed and realized the bitter truth.... IT'S LOCKDOWN... And we all were stuck at home.
I started my day by just wishing my dream to come true as soon as possible.

Sometimes in life its the smallest of things that we neglect while running the race for achieving bigger things in life. The people around us, our friends, the nature, the time that we spent with our loved ones and the list goes on and on. May this lockdown help us realise the value of all the small things in life and appreciate everything around us.
