Where Destinies Unite : Episode 4
It was lunch break. I was sitting on the top corner bench, with my food on the table. Adrian and Alina were on the next bench, with their food on my table. Trying to sound cool, we initiated talking about how carbon atoms form straight and branched chains in their componds.

As usual, the students were sitting in groups, scattered across the room. It appeared that the new ones had adapted to the atmosphere, except for Cassandra. I couldn't see her anywhere.
"Maybe she's in the washroom" Adrian said, seeing me lost in thoughts.
Alisa gave me a look, "Vic, you need to focus!"
"On what?"
"The lunch... maybe"
I hadn't eaten more than half of my lunch, while others were finishing. After a few seconds, Cassandra came into the class with Asthela. "I guess she was giving her a tour" Adrian theorised. "Guys," I said, "let's continue!"
"So, how many electrons does carbon have in its outermost orbit?"
"Four!" I looked around to see Cassandra standing near my bench with her lunch.
"Can I sit here?"
"Yes, why not?" I answered. She sat beside me, as the class stared at me as if I were a carbon atom. "So uh, Victor right?" she began.
"Call me Vic."
"Well, call me Cassie. Are you okay now? I mean-"
"mmmm" I whispered.
"You two know each other?" Alisa asked in surprise.
"I think we do" Cassandra replied.
I introduced her to Adrian and Alisa. "So, what does your dad do?" Adrian asked.
"He's the new police inspector at the nearby station."
Stallion suddenly showed up out of nowhere. "Hey, new girl!" he said, touching his hair in a wierd way, "I'm Stallion!"
"Cassandra" she nodded.
"I'm the soul of this place... was wondering if we can sit together." he said with his usual pride.
I wanted to laugh, but I controlled. "What do you think you're doing?" Adrian asked.
"Making friends!" he replied, "and don't you interrupt little fella."
"Wha-" I signed Adrian to stop.
Cassandra gave Stallion a questioning glance, while he looked at her like she was her only lifeline. "C'mon, what are you thinking?" he said, "I am the very best guy here!"
"To be friends with?"
"Friends or...." he took a long pause, "you know!"
"No, thanks" she replied with a plain smile.
Stallion stood there as if it was the first time he was rejected. Alisa chuckled to herself.
"Uhh Vic"
"Don't worry, you'll get used to these freaks."
"That's comforting"

The bell rang. "Students on to their respective seats" the prefect shouted, and we ignored, as usual. Cassandra moved back.
I thought the things are finally going to be interesting again.. so that I can take my mind off. However, before the session ends, I must find my path or else....
