"In Time and Shadows"
It was still dark. She was peeking through the window. Nothing there. She closed the blinds and listened. It was quiet. Just moments ago, she heard dogs barking their throats out and suddenly, it was gone.
She just moved to this new town. Her own place, finally. It was not expensive, yes, but not cheap either. Starting a new life after what happened seemed pretty easy at first, she thought, but now, after 2 weeks of moving in to this place, she felt like questioning herself if she did the right thing. "Honey was right," She whispered loudly. She heard again. This time, it was like a rush of wind, like a sudden movement of air which released a cold, eerie feeling that stuck through her back, passing through her window and her curtains. She peeked again. Nothing. She listened quietly.
At least 3 minutes passed, and there was still nothing. I gotta go back to bed, she thought. It was 1:45 am as she checked her clock hanging on the wall of her modest living room. I gotta go back to bed, she thought again.
She went to the kitchen and poured herself a glass of warm water. Placing the empty glass into the sink, she thought of the things she would do starting tomorrow. Maybe learn a skill or two, she thought.
