"It's a girl! "
The doctor gushed, placing the wailing infant on the woman's chest.
She heaved trying to catch her breath in the aftermath of her gruelling labour. Tears of pain mingled briefly with tears of joy before dissolving into tears of sadness.
She had once again given birth to a girl! Her third daughter. What would her husband and in-laws do to her now?...
Everything was good, her parents came, gave the child and her, blessings. In the mean time the child was also given a name-Ahana Bharadwaj. As soon as her parents left, her husband ,Anuj Bharadwaj ,bursted on her
"oh i am so done with this!!"."YOU must have done some sin in your previous life that you are having three USELESS daughters now!!I atleast didn't gave birth to any daughter like you!!"her mother in-law,Madhvi Bharadwaj,pronounced angrily."But daughters are not useless" She tried to defend her daughters with misty eyes.
"You don't know that daughters are such a burden. Now my son will pay the dowry in their marraige " her father in-law,Arjun Bharadwaj,growled."No it's not so, daughters are a gift from God, they--" she again tried to defend her daughters but failed. Her husband landed his right hand right on her left cheek."You should never speak back!You have no rights to stand for yourslef!!" Anuj shouted again on her"now what are we going to do with this 3rd burden " her husband continued.I am not going to pay a single penny for these girls"
"I think we should kill this girl " her mother in-law said as a normal thing."No we can't it's against the government rules " Anuj said."we should give this child for adoption"Anuj continued."Or I think,we don't need this women only"
her father in-law, smirked."Why don't you just leave this women with her three useless girls and then you can marry another one who could give you a son and our grandson" her father in-law continued."Yes! after all, we need a heir who could manage our buisness and be a owner of our billion worth property " her mother in-law said with her head hung up in proud.""I think you both are right I should kick these burdens out of our lives"Anuj said with a evil smirk on his face.
Avanya was devastated. She couldn't believe what was happening in her and her three innocent daughters's life.
Avanya was forced to go back to her own home with her daughters the very next day after she was discharged and so she did.
-ting tong- The bell rang. Ms.Deshmukh went to the door to open it."Oh Avanya my dear what happend. Why are you crying and... just come in"
Avanya sat on the sofa with her daughters and drank a glass of water served by one of the maids. Meanwhile her mother went upstairs practically ran upstairs to call her husband and son, who were working on some buisness matters. Upon hearing that Avanya is here crying ,they could easily make out that something wasn't right. No sooner Avanya saw her father than she ran and hugged him. Then she told everything from starting of their marraige till now. She told that he treated her like a slave and was never happy with her after their first child Adya was born and started to beat her after their second 'daughter' Akshara was born. She also said that his whole family disrespected females and believe that women are only a piece of decoration. They are not allowed to speak for themselves, cannot interfere in family talks, cannot show their faces to any outsider and always have to cover their faces with ghooghat,etc.. Her parents couldn't believe all this while her brother ,Advik, was boiling from anger. They married her to that family because they thought Bharadwaj family was a modern,open minded, hardworking and kind family, but they were just execrable people."From these THREE YEARS of bearing all this why didn't you told us about this before " her father questioned her."I was always told that after marriage a girl is not a girls she becomes a women who has to take care of her husband's house, her family and her family's reputation. I was told that married women HAVE to live her life caring her family, her sons, has to serve her household in fruitful pride.Then only she gains the right to sit beside her husband while worshipping the God and I couldn't even give birth to a son..It was all my fault so I never told you all to make you too upset from me. I wish I would be a man"She Bursted into tears and her parents too. They never really discriminated girls and boys but someway or other it just used to come on their tongues. They felt really bad. They always said that for them girls and boys both are equal and because of that they also allowed her to job in some another company while having their own buisness but always said all these in front her daughter too. She eventually LEARNED it.
They both hugged her and told her that there is nothing like that. Both male and female are superior no one is inferior.
Next day her father seriously talked about all this with Mr. and Ms. Bharadwaj and of course Anuj Bharadwaj too.
he thought maybe things could settle but Bharadwaj family didn't wanted anything to get settle. They just wanted to get divorce and having all 4 girls out of their family.
All this time Advik was stabbing Anuj with his death glares. He seriously wanted him to pay for all the trouble and pain he caused his sister to bear.
As no settlement could happen so the final result was DEVORCE. Her father asked Avanya for she wanted to get alimony from Anuj or not. But to there biggest surprise she said no. She told him that she herself do a job as a CEO and could grow her daughters much better all by herself and also she was with him only because of stupid reputation of her own family. For the first time in these three years she felt strong in front of Bharadwajs.
after 2 months ,all divorce thing ended and a little more later everything started to become normal. Avanya eventually got over all her bad memories and started a new life with her three beautiful daughters. Her daughters had their surnames removed from Bharadwaj to Deshmukh. Everything was going good and after 5 years Avanya met this man named Adarsh Deshpande, and this time her family allowed her to know him and his family better by herself.Adarsh was also a self made buisness man and really a kind, polite, selfless and open minded person and so was his family. And most of all he and his family accepted her three daughters. They both got married and lived happy ever after.
and oh about Bharadwajs, as we all know that whatever ill we do, we get it back sooner or later. and the same things happened with them. After sometime this news got leaked about all the ill treatment Avanya got from Anuj and his family. This really got Bharadwajs off guard and people started hash tags against them. Because of all this their reputation got down and their buisness started to fall. Of course no one wanted to set a buisness deal with people who have such low reputation outside. Because of all this Anuj and his father Arjun got frustrated. On top of all this frustration and insults, Arjun and Anuj landed behind the bars because of committing some crime. And Madhvi, Anuj's mother got depressed because of loosing all her richness and hung herself from the roof of her bedroom.

"It's a girl! "
