I just watched, AYINLA the movie on Netflix yesterday.

I could relate so deeply.

The man, the Myth.

I don't think many knew or cared to know anything about his life until this movie was made for him.

At least, I didn't.

My son, he loved the movie as it showed so nuch of his culture, but he was particularly wondering why I was so enthralled with It.

I was practically dancing and singing along with the music.

In those days, right beside my grandma's shop was a record company owned by one middle age man we call Baba Shakiru, they played the Apala music almost all day long.

In the evening, the tempo becomes slower, because the men and women will start to sit outside my grandma's shop to buy drinks and snacks, but still the Apala music is what is played for all to relax to.

We saw that he was also a con man in a way, where he will himself arrange for contracted thugs to interrupt his programmed outing where he had already been paid to perform.
