Bloody winter. part 18
(Disclaimer: Tigreb perspective)

I turned my head so fast, hoping I heard it wrong, but it was true. He and his father were here, and also some other old man was with them. Max's face was all a little white when he saw me getting up. Our eyes locked, but none of us dared to say anything. After that short gaze, he turned his head in the other direction, now looking at Kale.
"Son, Max is here to talk to you. Who is this young lady?" that unknown man asked.
"Father, she is the girl I was talking to you about. I think she has the right to stay here," Kale said.
"So, he is his father," I thought.
Kale's father, after hearing his son's words, addressed me. "Miss H., glad to finally know you! I really wanted to talk with you, but you didn't seem to be home at that time."
"So, he had come to my home. Perfect. I really need a camera at my door," I told myself.
I wanted to speak, but Max's father interrupted just at that moment.
"She was at my house at that time. She was accompanied home just some time before, but it is surprising to see her here," he said.
"I see, we can discuss that later then, friend, because I think there is a more important thing to do first," Kale's father said, moving his gaze at Max.
Max saw him in his eyes, walked toward Kale. He saw me in my eyes one more time and then lowered his head. I had seen that all before. I knew now what he would do. He stopped before him. My lips started trembling, and I felt a tear rolled down. I couldn't stop him, and I knew that somehow his head was lowering because of me. I was abhorring myself so much at that moment. I wanted to speak, to shout. I wanted to scream for him to stop, but now it was too late.

He lowered down on his knees, and for that moment, I closed my eyes. The view was already too clouded from the tears, but I didn't want to see such a painful view at all. I heard Max's voice say, "Kale, I'm here to apologize to you about that day... I was just a little angry and I did something bad without notice. I am sorry!"

I could feel his voice trembling, but after those words, I heard a strong noise. I opened my eyes. Max's nose was bleeding, and Kale was shaking his hand. He put his shoe to Max's right hand, pressing it to the ground. Max was trying not to show the pain he was feeling, but he failed. It was too much. Letting the person you despise the most treat you like that was the kind of pain only he was daring to hold that much.

"Kale, do you have no shame! After everything you did, do you still have to treat him like this?" I yelled.
"Tigreb! Don't you dare!" Max said, looking at me.
"He apologized to you, he went on his knees no matter what. Why are you treating him this way?!...After all that?" I continued.
Kale was looking at me and had let go of Max. Then Max got up. He put his left hand to my mouth and pushed me to the couch, looking into my eyes he said in a low voice but with a strong tone, "Shut your mouth! I won't forgive it if you dare to say another word!" He let go of me.

Kale didn't let him take another breath. He punched him on his face till Max was on the ground.
Then Kale came toward me and took my hand. I tried to let go, but the grip was too strong.
"Since we are all here today, I would like to announce something very important. This lady here is the woman I love."
