Blink once for this moment that flashes before your eyes shut again. The kids play jumprope outside the fields, calling to each other when one falls again.
Blink twice for this second that will never see again. The birds fly past into polls they knew were there but ignored like always.
Blink thrice for this existence you forgot about as you did yesterday yet again. The dogs chase the cats into the trees as the nets fly to catch them as they fall over and over.
Blink a fourth time when you realize this will always happen and moments like this you just have to move ahead again. The waves of the water that wash ashore push back the turtles going in as kids follow along shooing away birds as a hobby.
Blink for a fifth time and.. oh no ..
The sun doesn't seem to set. It's been hours since it was supposed to. It's not supposed to still be here so what's happening? Blink again. Again. You didn't notice, the sun set awhile ago. It's been set but you forgot to look again.
Blink a thirteenth time and notice that something is missing but you can't quite make out what happened again. The cars pass by running into a crash as the light is broken just as it has been for weeks.
Blink a fourteenth time as you see the sun hang out where it was yesterday morning again. The stars pop in just as they have been even though it's bright outside, but it's okay. They always do that.
Blink again. You don't know how many times anymore but Everytime you blink time pauses and then jumps forward for just a moment. If you hold your eyes open you'll probably see it. It's okay if you don't though, nobody does.
Blink again as you spot the moment time pauses and maybe you can breathe for once as the kids play jumprope calling out when one of them falls again.
