I can never forget the joyous days of my childhood, especially the summer when all we did was swim in the lake or lie on it's edge
Coming home and treating my sunburn with white vinegar, sitting on my shed in the back yard watching the sun go down while being surrounded by curious lightning bugs
I go to this place when life stresses me out, when I need some peace of mind to help me figure things out
Straining as it may be the strings they pull, I'll always love you and I'm okay if that makes me look like a fool
It's never been difficult to give up on me, I just know who I want to be
Whether I'm healing from the things I never had to get back, or the problems they choose to stack
I'm living proof love exists, you never lost me because you never missed
