Shokhi (part 5)
Shokhi's life at this juncture was facing too many twists and turns. Shokhi had so many questions in her mind and then suddenly nothing. She was always a Daddy's girl. She had named herself 'The Imperfect Beauty'.
Manas loved her but couldn't live upto Shokhi's expectation or say he broke the image in her eyes that she had for him. For Moni, she was a confidant and her soul.
But what about Shokhi?? She was alone .
So Shokhi closed herself for sometime to think about herself and discover the changes in her. A smile ran on her face. From school to college, a lot of incidents and situations had changed her. Shokhi was much more confident, outgoing, became more social than before. Her imperfect beauty was that she believed, she wasn't beautiful and at that moment it didn't matter to her.
Why??
Harry,Shonkho majorly proved to her that she was sought after but they weren't for her. Attending Harry's marriage was a victory for her. A small but significant incident that gave her more of a reason to Not Smile but laugh was when her would be brother in law showed interest in her and she was barred by her aunt to go in front of him.
Shokhi was now focusing on what next?
Travel Industry was her dream and passion. 1989, She tried once to realise her dream but Moni discouraged her. 1993-94 she tried again but again Moni objected. Manas did not support her. Here Shokhi too gave up too early. But she had to do something. So Shokhi by default is a teacher today and a good teacher!!
College too did not give her too many friends but yes the few she had were good and positive.
Though Shokhi was confident, smart and so called the imperfect beauty, she still was fearful and frightened from inside. Reason she didn't know or say didn't want to find out. She was now proud of Shokha. He was doing good for himself. He was the only positive presence in her life.
Shokhi technically became a teacher and now wanted to work and Moni wanted her to get married. Shokhi never objected to it but wasn't too serious too. For Shokhi life was like 'Ye sab to normal hai, sabki life mein hota hai.'
Lot of things were happening with Shokhi externally, internally, emotionally, psychologically.
Moni started her search for a groom for Shokhi. She forced Manas too for this. By now there was a lot of distance between Shokhi and Manas. Daddy's girl was lost.
Preparation for Marriage.
Shokhi was indifferent.
