Akshaya Tritiya
Today is an auspicious occasion on the Hindu calender. It marks the festival of Akshaya Tritiya, a day dedicated to wealth, abundance and prosperity.
Ideally, the day would be celebrated through certain rituals and the purchasing of gold. We are living in interesting times and due to the lockdown, gold is not readily available. I like to identify myself as more spiritual, as opposed to religious. Thus, I use these festivals to take in the beautiful energies available from the day. I also meditate and engage in chanting.
Instead of choosing to use external items to mark this day, how's about we change things up? As a human being, you are a beam of light. There is an abundance of light and power within you, waiting to engulf the world.
Akshaya Tritiya marks new beginnings, why not use this day to connect to your inner light? Why not use this day to commit to a process of inner transformation for the better? Why not commit to merging into a oneness with the Divine on this day?
Life is not only about material possessions, career achievements, academic achievements etc. There is much more to life than these things, which further plunge us into the arms of the ego. On the other hand, there is the light where we can connect to our inner power and merge into one with the Divine.
Human beings are an extension of God. Our past life karma determined where we were born, to which family, which country etc. There are certain things over which we had no choice, however, the Divine has bestowed us with one choice which determines the entire trajectory of our life. That is the ability to choose where we direct our thoughts, energy and awareness.
What you focus on the most, manifests itself in your physical reality. If you connect to the darkness of the ego, your physical reality will have those experiences and people of a similar vibration manifest. I say, choose differently. Connect to the light within you and watch your physical reality change in ways you could not imagine.
If all you do today is imagine a ball of white and gold light emerging out of your solar plexus, traveling throughout the rest of your body and covering your entire being in it, you will experience the energies which this day presents to humanity. Take this light and spread it throughout this entire creation: to the planets, the sun, the moon, the elements and to the hearts of every single being.
Purchasing gold is a good investment and gives you good returns, however, connecting with the gold within you, now that is an invaluable asset. A heart of gold shines brighter than the gold in our physical reality. From my heart to yours, Shubh Akshaya Tritiya!
