The Vampire and the Human (Chapter 2)
Sephtis opened a pair of oak doors down the hall that opened into a large, dimly lit dining room. There was a long dark oak table stengthing down the middle, clearly meant for hosting large parties.
"We can just sit on the end for now" He said "I'll be right back after I let the chef know we'd like dinner served"
Ares nodded, hesitantly sitting down near the end of the table. He sat stiffly, clearly unsure how to act in such a fancy place.
A few moments later Sephtis cane back, holding two glasses of what looked like wine. "Drink?" He smiled and sat doen across from Ares.
"The chef is preparing a gourmet tomato soup, garnished with parsley, and garliced bread for dipping" Sephtis said and took a drink from his glass. The liquid in his cup however looked strangely thicker than the wine he gave Ares.
Ares raised an eyebrow at Sephtis’ drink, but seemed to brush it off. He took a sip of the drink Sephtis gave him.
“Thank you.” He said, trying his best to be polite.
"So, Ares, tell me a bit more about yourself" Sephtis said, casually covering his mouth with the back of his hand "You're only staying for the night, correct? I'd like to get to know who is sleeping in my house before they leave me forever" He said with a small chuckle.
“Oh um- I’m not really an interesting person- just a bit of a traveler. I’ve been searching for some.. people, based on a few trinkets I have...
