Dark Secrets Chapter IV
Prince Liam P.O.V
"I have no idea of what you're talking about, Liam and I do not have the time for any games at this time." ." He replied before turning to walk away again.
"Father, none of what I speak of is false. There was a woman brought here not too long ago. This morning if I am correct." I recalled.
He stopped in his tracks and spun toward me. Before I knew it, he was right in front of my face.
"Keep your voice down!" He spat.
I stared in confusion before backing away and said, "Father, I will not be left out of what's going on here. I am to be the next King of this kingdom..."
"Yes, I know all of this, Liam!" He shouted, rubbing his temples.
He removed his hands and looked back at me, his eyes taking on a dark red tint. I knew he was angry.
"She was brought to be your mate, but she wasn’t her and she..."
"My mate? What are you talking about? I will not have you picking out some girl for me!" I retaliated.
"If you are to rule this kingdom, then you are to have a wife. But, not just any woman can be her. All of our kind has a soulmate whether they are human or another among us." He explained.
I, of course, already knew most of this. He'd found my mother at about my age too, but if I was to have her, I would find her myself. Before he could continue explaining, a thought crossed my mind.
"What did you do with the other woman who was brought here, father?" I asked skeptically.
"She was put in the dungeon." He told me casually.
"She has no reason to have been put in there father! Why must you do stuff like that?" I demanded.
His eyes were now a deeper, blood red as he spoke.
"You are not to go near her..."
"My lord!" A guard shouted as he burst into the throne room. A man holding a scroll accompanied him.
My father looked up in shock, as did I.
"What is it, Thomas?" My father questioned.
"We've found her!" He exclaimed.
"Well, where is she?" He questioned again, looking behind the guard.
"She escaped..."
"How could she possibly have escaped you!? She's a mortal, Thomas you should have caught her!" He shouted in anger.
As I watched the conversation go on, I began to realize they were talking about another woman they had found for me. I began to back out of the room after hearing from Sir Thomas where she ran off too. I slowly opened the huge double doors and shut them quietly before exiting the castle.
As I walked down the stoned road of the village, I pulled my black hood over my dark hair so no one could recognize me. I kept my head down a bit as my eyes scanned around looking for her, but I realized quickly that I had no idea what she looked like.
"My Prince!" Another guard yelled to me.
He ran over and stood a few feet away, bowing to the ground before saying, "Where is it you're going?"
"The girl. The one that the other knight had found earlier today. Where is she?" I questioned, tilting my head up to look around.
The guard titled his head in every direction, scanning the area before remembering where it was she had gone.
I nodded my head to the knight before heading towards the same way she had run off to.
