Part 1
It was about few minutes past eight in the night.the eighteenth day of April,three days after my twelfth birthday.I was staring and smiling at the watch i placed beside my pillow as i wait for sleep to come. It was the only gift i got for my birthday, was the first time someone gifted me something,of course from a non-family member.
It's been three days and the amusement was still in me as tried i to close my else when i heard footsteps towards the door of my unlocked room,quickly hid it somewhere because whoever it was coming through to my door would question me for having such a fine thing as they would call it, I protected it like a property, a treasure.
Though i didn't have the room all to myself ,it was just somewhere around the household that anyone could come into,a room that looked like a storehouse.
Then my step brother stormed in,fear gripped me because he probably showed up to yell at me or beat me up for not doing a chore properly, it was a routine for me,I was used to it , even at some point i got myself ready to be beaten for something that could be overlooked or that is totally not my fault.
I was going to pretend to have fallen asleep but i didn't have enough time to think that before he entered,either way i was still going to be flogged for something i absolutely know nothing about.
