love as a second chance
I had just woken up from a long sleep. I struggled to open my eyes, but I couldn’t see clearly. My sight was blur and my eyes hurt bady. Finaly, I managed to get a glimpse of my surrounding and realized I was at a hospital. I was confused and couldn’t remember much. I tried to remember how I got here but my memory served me blank.
My sight got better after a while, and I could see everywhere clearly. I tried sitting up,but it was harder than I imagined. my limbs felt numb and it hurt badly to even move a muscle, just as I was trying, a nurse entered the room. She was jaw dropped and looked like she had seen a ghost.
I looked at her emotionless but wondered what might be wrong. Soon, she was no longer there. My head hurt badly as I tried to understand if I might be hallucinating. Finally, I was able to sit up after many tries. The pain I felt went extreme as I tried catching my
breathe. it was like my back was being hammered by iron and my veins had withered, my bones felt dry and stiff while my throat was as dry as a desert. My head was spinning, and I felt irritated in my bely.
I rested my back on an exceptionally soft pillow placed behind me. In front of me was a black screen I took a quick look around; it was then I noticed the numerous cards arranged around me at every angle.
i saw varieties of flowers too, though some had withered, some still looked fresh. The room was spacious
at my right were chairs and a center table beautifuly arranged at the corner.
A small fridge quietly hid behind the two seater sofa and the window behind it, was a perfect match. The sunlight that entered through the window brightened the room, giving it a cozy atmosphere. The fresh air I sensed from outside the window strugging to get its way in, had me wishing i could get my feet on the ground close to my bed were huge hospital machines beside me like bodyguards, thanks to those guys, I was able to stay awake in my sleep. I sighted a letter, stuck between the machine at my left and I really wanted to reach it. in my head I had the letter in my hand but, I was still strugging to get my hand on it.
just as I was struggling, I noticed a man enteredthe room. He was tall and broad, looking all neat with his ironed white coat. I ooked him from top to bottom as he came closer to me, then I noticed the nurse behind him, she was the one I saw earlier. She was in a purple shirt and pant, with a medical tray onher hand. She walked behind him looking at me like I was a witch. The doctor finally got to me, but his attention was on the machine as he checked it carefully totaly ignoring me.
“what’s going on here” I muttered, I don’t know why but I was surprised. I didn’t know could talk because I never tried to.
The doctor looked at me head down and I also stared at turning my head to the side because he was beyond my sight. He immediately squatted by my side, looking up to me he said i’m sorry, I’m doctor… Klan,”“I’m felicia”the nurse added from behind as silent had its way into the room, I just stared into his eyes, and he ooked at me. “You… you’re in the hospital” he muttered finally breaking the silence. I gave him and so? Look as he strugged to complete his statement “you just woke up from a coma" i cut in immediately “coma!” he looked at the nurse and she prepared an injection;bI was still frozen looking at the doctor in surprise like I was expecting his eyes to tell me otherwise. The nurse injected the fluid from the injection into a pipe that leads into me, I turned to look at her then back at the doctor totally lost.
“You have been in coma for,7 years” he added. I don’t know but my sight began to go blur once again and I found it hard to see clearly. This time my sight was slimily, and I felt dizzy. I...
