Paper Boat
Red light.
The cars all came to a halt.
Raindrops amused the parched leaves.
A Porsche stood by the roadside.
The little girl inside protested as the raindrops on her window started protesting louder.
With her little hands she pressed on to the window, her breath clouding her vision, yet her green eyes gaping at the unworldly marvel she had just discovered.
By the roadside ran a drain, the rain water developing quite a flow in it now. A little boy engrossed in solving the mystery sat beside it with clothes worn out, and with nothing more than a child’s innocence did he seek the answer to his mystery.
At last he had solved it.
A paper boat.
Carefully he lowered it into the drain that had clean water today. Then he watched it float away slowly until he couldn’t see it anymore.
The boy looked up at the sky, raindrops caressing his soft cheeks, when he saw those green eyes through the foggy window.
They both smiled. The glass stood between.
