Gun Approach Part 1
If you know what it feels like being before a headless chicken with a gun then you know at that point you don't knw if you would live or die, nor can you tell when he pulls the trigger or the exact minute you breathe your last.
Reminds me of a night in 2019. I was escorting Seyi home(about 5mins away), after almost two hours of Bible discussion. Omooo, they came on bike, three wannabes, we were weylayed at gunpoint. (Seyi is like a brother to me).
The way they came at us before they parked, with their headlight on, they came directly at us, they almost hit us by the pedestrian side. we were scared for our lives, scampering for safety first, so we could warn them of that careless driving.
As they staggered to a stop, one of them, who had already alighted from the bike and was with the gun screamed, "If you shout, I shot". The driver waited ready on the bike, should there be a reason to take off in speed, the bike was left running. Then I had crossed a deep gutter in an attempt to escape, but the third who had no gun, rushed me while the one with the "ghost rider" pointed to the dust, watched and kept yelling at me as the third rough handled me.
I was glad Seyi could break for safety in the wake of these, with the first aiming to shot him in his zigzag pattern while I was corner to a spot by the locked shop of a tailor I knew. She had closed early that day and darkness had the night deep. Houses lined the street, left and right and right of the spot I was cornered was a building. They queued one after each other, you would imagine in such a crowded landspace the attackers will fear the crowd that may appear out of the gate by fence tall as electric poles.

I remember vividly, that was the night of the presidential election. I didn't go out that day because I wasn't down for electing some misfit who would fail me over and over again.
It was getting dark whn Seyi came around. I think we had meal together why we answered Bible questions by research. The spot where we were stopped was exactly six buildings from mine, Seyi's was about twenty buildings away. We frequently had night Bible discussions, I escort him almost home n we part ways. This was the same road we take and it wasn't even as late as we sometimes have.
Need I tell you security in that environment was at its peak, gates were installed here and there, guards already out by night fall, the belt of their local gun crossed their chests. They stood by the gate of Peaceland estate, an estate having multiple exit but the guards always patrol down to one of the gates, the one that leads to my house to lock it every night by 10pm.
A night as that somehow gets under the radar of security outposts, they normally won't miss the chance to send the bike back once it gets dark, talk less of allowing it drive through the estate to link other estates or community.
The event of that day Stroke me with shock, we've never seen or had of it like in the neighbourhood so we never expected it. In my dance with the third gunless guy i was doing exactly the opposite of what the first said, 'I was screaming for help'...

To be contd.
