Coda vs Titane battle of best picture winner at the two most prestigious award ceremony in same year!
Both films are directed by Woman! Coda written and directed by Sian Heder & Titane written by Julia Ducournau , Jacques Akchoti(writing consultant) , Simonetta Greggio(writing consultant) and directed by Julia Ducournau! Both the movies are one of the best movies ever! The top prize at Cannes is the Palme d'Or, though it has been called "Grand Prix du Festival International du Film" and the "Grand Prix" at certain stages of the festival's history. It's roughly the Cannes equivalent of the Best Picture Oscar.

💥Coda plot Summary: Ruby is the only hearing member of a deaf family from Gloucester, Massachusetts. At 17, she works mornings before school to help her parents and brother keep their fishing business afloat. But in joining her high school's choir club, Ruby finds herself drawn to both her duet partner and her latent passion for singing.

💥Titane Plot Summary: A woman with a titanium plate fitted in her head and murderous intent on her mind embarks on a bizarre journey of identity and unconditional love when she's forced to go on the run.

❤️The differences between the most recent Palme d'Or and Best Picture winners are night and day. One is a French body horror film that features graphic violence, intense sexuality, and some surprisingly powerful themes surrounding identity and masculinity vs. femininity, while the other is a low key family drama about a teenage girl who has to balance her own life and dreams with that of her family's, all of whom are deaf. It's worth noting that both are very good in their ways, but Julia Ducournau's Titane might beat Sian Heder's CODA in terms of its impact. It's probably more likely to stick in viewers' minds... though the number of viewers who may want to watch it in the first place could be smaller, seeing as how it's quite an extreme and sometimes confronting film to begin with.

😍CODA : That really touched my heart too many times, many laughs too and I cried few times too. I have not laughed this much in a long time because of a movie. And I mean many laughs. The best deaf movie I’ve seen and I’m glad that I able to witness this in my lifetime, yes! Hilarious and emotional. This movie is definitely one of a kind. I'm not sure I've ever seen a movie that tugged at my heartstrings while being so funny.

You’ll laugh, all right. You’ll cry. You’ll do both at the same time. CODA is just that kind of movie. And thank goodness for it.

😍TITANE : In the beginning I didn't like TITANE - I was disturbed by the killing of innocent people, therefore I couldn't empathise with the protagonist. But then the movie grew on me, and I loved it. It's just magnificent, there is so much sweetness despite all the horror Alexia is immersed in. The movie ultimately is about the redemption brought by love. And what a soundtrack! True masterpieces stay with you, no matter how much you disliked them in the beginning.

Titane is undeniable. Its a film that is unapologetic in its brutality and offers a look at self discovery, which provides a duality that will make the film one that audiences will talk about for quite some time. The miracle of Julia Doucournau's luridly beautiful Palme d'Or winner is that the memory of the violence puncturing the film's first half recedes as loving tenderness takes hold.
