Child marriage is so devastating. Though it's illegal, it doesn't really stop people from stooping to that level. Be it child marriage or early marriage, it should be held only when there's consent from the bride and the groom. And hold on, what can a child of lesser than 18 years possibly have to say regarding marriage? It's a given that it'll be a no. Still, go forward and ask him/her, instead of putting your opinions on them.
Not only child marriages, India is an expert in dealing with early marriages. The 'society' thinks it's better to give away the girl child as soon as she reaches 18 or a certain age. All thanks to the government that it has raised the age bar from 18 to 21 years for marriage. But do you really think that a 21 aged old girl or a boy can marry and have responsibilities and have a family? Okay, well that's something which depends on them, actually. If you're ready, go ahead! But if you aren't and you're being forced into it, please raise your voice and protest against it. Don't listen to everyone and sacrifice yourselves. Marry only when you're willing to. Remember that's not a goal of life. If you don't want to marry, that's your choice. If you want to, again that's your choice. But don't let others take the decision for you.
It's your life. And it's you who's going to stay with them for a lifetime. You've to take the decision wisely. If you don't want it, say it. There's always a way out. Don't get pressurised by what the 'society' has to say. But, still if you think that you ought to listen to the people and sacrifice your choices, well go ahead! But think before you act!
